A %nin% operator?
Sometimes I write code like this: > qf.a <- subset(qf, pubid %in% c(104, 106, 107, 108)) > qf.b <- subset(qf, !pubid %in% c(104, 106, 107, 108)) and I get a little worried that maybe I've remembered the precedence rules wrong, so I change it to > qf.a <- subset(qf, pubid %in% c(104, 106, 107, 108)) > qf.b <- subset(qf, !(pubid %in% c(104, 106, 107, 108))) and pretty

Quote symbol names under EXPORTS in tmp.def on Windows
I originally posted on this topic on a different thread: https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-devel/2016-August/072938.html These sources suggested that a safe practice might be to put double quotes around symbol names in EXPORTS in case the symbol name is the same as a linker keyword: - https://sourceware.org/binutils/docs/ld/Symbols.html#Symbols -

Voicemail notification by email is missing CallerID info
All; I am running Asterisk 11.6-cert16 and I have voicemail setup so voicemail messages are sent as email attachments. That works fine. However, the body of the email contains the CallerID(name), but is missing the CallerID(num). For example, the email body looks like this: Just wanted to let you know you were just left a 0:21 long message (number 13) in mailbox 101 from WIRELESS

IPSec tunnel
Hi! I''m testing IPSec tunnels, having the following test schemma: Host A - eth0: 192.168.1.67 eth1: 192.168.10.1 Host B - eth0: 192.168.1.254 eth1: 192.168.20.1 I''ve succesfully configured an IPSec tunnel in order to safely communicate from 192.168.10.0/24 (which is obviously behind Host A), and 192.168.20.0/24 (obviously behind Host B) In this test

subsets, %in%
Hi, I have a question about %in% and subsettin data frames. Say I need to keep ID 1,2,4,5, 10 from the data frame dat. I can do: dat <- data.frame(ID = 1:10, var = 1:10) someID <- c(1,2,4,5,10) subset(dat, dat$ID %in% someID) Is there a quick way to do the opposite, ie to do a subset that contains all ID but someID? Something like %not in%, which would *remove* lines with ID in

Question about .Fortran in glmnet package
Hi, My apologies for asking this question, but could not find the answer elsewhere. I understand the glmnet package uses Fortran code. For example, the lognet.R file includes the lines of code shown below. But how can I see the Fortran code that is being referenced in the code below? Is that provided somewhere in the package source code? .Fortran("lognet",

rbinom silently rounds size argument (PR#1377)
rbinom (in R-1.4.1) silently rounds its "size" argument. The C code contains n = floor(nin + 0.5); I would argue that this should this either be documented or changed (to return NA). (The behavior is inconsistent with dbinom). I sent this in to the devel list a couple of weeks ago to provoke discussion; no disagreement (or agreement) so I'm submitting it as a bug.
