Hi I look for a way to generate a text file, holding the workgroup/user relation - which users belongs to a workgroup. Can I use a samba tool to list all members of any known group? Or maybe run a domain ctlr, and lookup the information in files on the server? I must get this info from a M$ lan with arround 20.000 workstations and some hudreds servers. Brgds Jorgen

Upgrading to Samba 2.2.7
I'm running Red Hat version 7.2 as server. It has been fully upgraded from Red Hat UP2DATE. Samba 2.2.3a is currently running on the server with a working smb.conf file. I've noted a lot of comments/suggestions to upgrade to Samba 2.2.7. I find 2 files on the samba.org site for Red Hat 7.x: samba2.2.7-1.i386.rpm and samba2.2.7.src.rpm When trying to install with the Package Manager I

Help with accessing shares from win9x using 2.0.6
Hello All, I recently downloaded, compiled, and installed vs 2.0.6 of samba on a Digital Unix 4.0E system. I set up security to point to our single NT domain controller, and set up a user map for those users who don't have identical Unix and NT Domain usernames. I can access all of the shares correctly from an NT client. On Win9x, I can map the shares and see the first level directory,

Hi, based on Bart Lagerweij's ( www.nu2.nu ) bootdisk, I've created a small DOS system that users can start by booting from network ( PXE ). The system is configured to map a network drive from a Suse 9.0 Pro / Samba server with various tools on it. The connection is anonymous. Until recently everything worked fine but suddenly there are strange errors: When I try to launch an EXE from

HI All. We've been having some problems the past couple days with one of our Samba Servers. We currently have it running two instances. One instance is using local auth (historical) the other instances is using our newish domain for authentication. We're slowly migrating users over to the domain so having both methods available was the solution we came up with. Yesterday we had
