Somewhat OT: OpenOffice.org Headless issues as non-root user
Hi, I've installed recently OpenOffice.org 3.1 on Centos 5.3. I use OOo in headless mode. I have no problem when running as root, but I'd prefer run it as non-root user (oooserver user). When I run the script in debug mode this is the output: sh -x /tmp/ooo-headless-nonroot start + . /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions ++ TEXTDOMAIN=initscripts ++ umask 022 ++

VirtualBox headless
Hello, I'm trying to use the VirtualBox/vbox driver together with libvirt 0.8.1 on a Ubuntu Lucid Machine, VirtualBox Release 3.1. The goal is to run the virtual machines headless and to connect using RDP. When starting a virtual domain using 'virsh start <domainname>' the GUI of VirtualBox will pop up and I see no option to prevent this. If X is not running, the virsh command

Headless WINE (nulldrv, winetty)
I'm running a headless Linux installation (FC11) on Amazon EC2 and need to run some console-based (no window) 32-bit DOS executables... I've been running this fine for the past couple years on another installation (FC10) with v1.1.23, by setting the "TERM" environment variable to "xterm" and I believe it ran the "tty" graphics-driver and worked just great.

headless VirtualBox on Centos
Awesome! Thanks for your replies everybody. I was looking more or less at the same options. Just was wondering if there was a ready-made set of scripts somewhere to set all of this in motion to save me a little time - but if not, I will just make one. Cheers, Boris. VNC/RDP access to the VM's would be fine. You can also get access to a headless VM console via RDP with VRDE (VBox Remote Desktop Extension) available from VBox Extension Pack.

Is it a "Headless problem"? - Same code runs well in interactive R shell, but never terminates with Rscript
Dear R-Experts, I seem to be dealing with a so called "headless" problem in R. I wrote a quite extensive program that generates a Bayesian network from a query protein's Phylogenetic Tree and subsequently uses a message passing algorithm to infer the most likely annotation for the query leaf in the tree using the other leaves known -and proven- protein function annotations. The

Headless/Cardless with isolinux ??
Hello Family, I'm trying to help with a problem where there is a headless/cardless server and we need to create an isolinux image that points the display to the serial port. The original machine that is using this has the ability in the bios to redirect its video to /dev/ttyS0 or such but the machines I have access to do NOT have that ability built into the bios. [question] Is there a way

following Centos wiki headless install, but applying to FC10
I have successfully built an install CD following the instructions at: http://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/VncHeadlessInstall Now I am trying to do the same with FC10 and I am failing in two ways. I have tried to find a similar howto for even FC9, but have not found the right google magic. The first problem should be small. When I set isolinux.cfg to start with: prompt 1 timeout 0 I
