Samba-3 Ldap Adding Administrator Account
How do you add an "Administrator" account to ldap.
I want to leave root in /etc/passwd but have "Administrator" in ldap
I have checked Howto Collection and the Samba-Ldap-3 but they contain no information. The Ldap-Howto has a suggestion but then says not to use.

rc3 net groupmap add fails
Relevant part of "net3 groupmap list" is
System Operators (S-1-5-21-1617713866-2789119093-1479812082-1007) -> sys
In howto there is the following example
net groupmap modify ntgroup="System Operators" unixgroup=sys
net groupmap modify ntgroup="Power Users" unixgroup=sys
You can add System Operators but trying to add Power Users fails. If you do it in reverse

bibtex::read.bib -- extracting bibentry keys
I have two versions of a bibtex database which have gotten badly out of
sync. I need to find find all the entries in
bib2 which are not contained in bib1, according to their bibtex keys.
But I can't figure out how to extract a list of the bibentry keys in
these databases.
A minor question: Is there someway to prevent read.bib from ignoring
entries that do not contain all required fields?

error message not understood
Greetings!
I just successfully installed wine under red hat linux 7.1, the latest
kernel. I am running windows 2000 Professional on my Dos partition. I
have been able to run some of the software I need to stay in linux
instead of having to switch to win2k, but I'm having problems with
Membership Plus 6.0c.
Here's the command I give to try and run it: [johnfg@church johnfg]$

Inverting a scale(X)
G'day, All.
I have been trying to trackdown a problem in my R analysis script. I perform a scale() operation on a matrix then do further work.
Is there any way of inverting the scale() such that
sX <- scale(X)
Xprime <- inv.scale(x); # does inv.scale exist?
resulting in Xprime_{ij} == X_{ij} where Xprime_{ij} \in R
There must be some way of doing it but I'm such a newb

It can be exploited in this

What is the best way to lag a time series?
Dear R-users,
I've been using R for a while and I am very satisfied! Unfortunately, I
still have not figured out an efficient and general way to construct and
use lags of time series, especially when I need to work with different
packages.
Let me give an example. I have two time series x and y and I want to
estimate a variaty of distributed lags models and run different tests

Backporting instructions in Contributing guide
I''m probably going to help backport some code from master onto 3.2, and the
suggested process in the Contributing guide doesn''t actually look like the
best approach to me. Wouldn''t it make more sense to just check out the
branch you want to patch, cherry-pick the change(s) from master, make any
additional commits necessary to get it working?
Not only is that simpler

save-d file format forward compatibility
G'day, All.
I've recently started writing up my dissertation and need to consider how to store the research results. I'd like to use the binary compressed save() format as it is considerably smaller than the raw data. However, will a future R be able to read it into the indefinite future or would I be better off just compressing the text data files? The doc says:

Rails' scaffold controller generator - should it test json format also?
(Forgive me if this is incorrect, because I recognized this initially as
something in Rails 4.0.0.beta1 and have just done a cursory look over the
latest generator code.)
Noticed in Rails 4 that the test generated for a scaffold controller only
tests the html format instead of both html and json:

[PATCH] nouveau: fix chipset checks for nv1a by using the oclass instead
Commit f4ebcd133b9 ("dri/nouveau: NV17_3D class is not available for
NV1a chipset") fixed this partially by using the correct 3d class.
However there were a lot of checks left over comparing against the
chipset.

Basic Question about use of R
Dear Sirs:
I am not yet a user of R. My background includes the use of (Turbo)
Pascal for scientific analysis of underwater acoustics problems (e.g.
sound ray tracing and array gain in directional noise fields.)
I have become interested in the following type of problem:
(1) select , say, 1000 random locations within the continental United
States;
(2) characterize (statistically) the
