Odd things happening in ie6/ie7
As always, i am again having problems in IE6 and IE7 with scripts. The scripting works fine in FF2, opera and Safari. IE just wont load it. Could anyone help? It''s a static page for now, located at www.maifith.com/research/index.html The problem, although quite obvious, is that it doesn''t load the JS in IE6 or IE7. Any help would be appreciated.

Drag and Drop in IE7 vs FF
Hi, I''ve got drag and drop (DD) working for my app in FF. However, the same code doesn''t work in IE7. I can''t even see an icon change when you hover over the item I intend to drag. All I get is the lasso effect; the mouse makes look it is trying to select the contents of the page. Here''s an abbreviated version of the code with the pertinent section: <%

Element.addMethods functions swallowing exceptions (IE6 + 7)
IE6 and IE7 are not correctly handling the ''throw'' command for functions attached to Element via Element.addMethods. Firefox and Safari are fine. See the example below. For IE6: functions called with no attributes (ie: funcName()) correctly handle thrown errors. Funcions called with attributes (ie: funcName("foo")) will respond to the throw command and pass execution

Ajax.Updater on a select list not updating correctly in IE7 (fine in FireFox)
Hi all, Been working with prototype and script.aculo.us now for around 3 days after never really touching javascript so I am still getting to grips with things. So far I have successfully created 4 ajax based functions, or so I thought until I stupidly showed a client one of them before I had tested it in IE. The function in question works fine in FireFox succesfully inserting any new values

Lightbox-eske Dialogish Object
So, one of the things I''ve always wanted to do was expand upon the simplicity of the Lightbox Gone Wild! object that the coders at www.particletree.com put together months ago. I used it on an application I wrote to organize my own picture albums on my localhost web server, but I had to hack it apart to get it to do the things I wanted it to do. I looked at the Prototype Window

Problems with Drag & Drop in IE7
I''ve got some very simple drag & drop scripts that I''ve put together for testing purposes just so I can get the kinks worked out before I build the drag & drop functionality into my application. The scripts work fine in Firefox but when using IE7 it craps out after I drop a draggable on a droppable. I drag a username div to a number div drop it and the username reverts,

Content overlapping IE7 scrollbars?
Hey all, I''ve Googled and searched for this answer numerous times, but can''t find it. Apologies if this has been posted here before. I have a frameset in IE7 with a top and bottom frame (I know... frames suck. No choice here). The bottom frame is where all the action is, specifically, a portal with draggable (sortable, actually) portlets. Anyway, I get this funky problem

Cross-Browser History management
Hi ! Is it plan to release a Browser History Management in Scriptaculous ? Or does anybody know a "prototype" library to manage browser history compatible with IE6, IE7 and FF ? We tried to use Really Simple History: http://code.google.com/p/reallysimplehistory/ But it seems to be incompatible with some Prototype event management. Ajax.Updater is evaluating script twice
When I execute the code similar to the following: new Ajax.Updater( Div, Page , { evalScripts: true } ); The script embedded in the result is being executed by prototype twice. I am using IE7 but have confirmed it is also an issue with IE6. I am using Prototype version 1.6.0.2. Has anyone seen this before? I have found no related postings. Thanks for any advice. -Ben

Prototype API Docs inconsistency
Hi, If you follow those two links (watch the case difference) : - http://www.prototypejs.org/api/element/getElementsBySelector - http://www.prototypejs.org/api/element/getelementsbyselector You''ll see that the first one does not indicate the 1.6 deprecation even though it is the same method. I guess those docs where generated, so the problem might exists elsewhere in the docs. Thanks

Multiple form weirdness in IE6
I am having an issue where I have multiple forms on a page. The first form has a couple of hidden inputs. The second form has all the visible controls including three buttons. Each of these buttons has a behaviour attached to it (From Ben Nolan''s Behaviour.js) based on its id. The code for the first button is something like this (I am also using prototype.js): var button1Func =

Scriptaculous: Sortable not firing in IE7
I have a ul that is set to be Sortable. The id naming scheme for the underlying elements is the proper format "{name}_{number}". On FF 2 and IE 6, my onChange and onUpdate methods are fired. However only on IE7 (7.0.5730.13 to be exact), after I move the list item and mouse up the drop never seems to finish, the list items reverts. No events: onChange or onUpdate are ever fired. Has
