filter question
Hi,
I've been trying to come up with a way to do the following
operation. I have a /home folder and I want to transfer only the
/mail/ folders inside the home folder along with their parent
folders. So, if I have the following files:
/home/bob/document.doc
/home/bob/pr0n/pr0nFile
/home/bob/mail/file1
/home/bob/mail/spam/viagra
/home/mike/kitten.jpg

Error: Client not receiving data fast enough
Hey all,
I've been having the same "Client not receiving data fast enough" errors.
I've got icecast configured so as not to send info to ANY yp directories.
Even on a quiet 100MB connection between client and server, I can stay
connected for only about 5 minutes at a shot if I'm lucky. I'm using
Icecast 1.3.11, and Shout 0.8.0. The files I'm streaming are all

Planning first Linux/Wine install
I'm planning my first Linux/Wine install. Is there any advantage to
having a Windows (say W2K) partition to install Win apps to, when the
plan is to run them under Wine/Linux?
I do have a licensed copy of W2K, so I could do that if it were an
advantage (e.g., is it easier to install difficult or unruly win apps
under windows first?).
Any other suggestions (I'm planning out my partition

Compiling static libFLAC.a still requires libogg.dylib
Hi, I'm trying to compile a static lib of libFLAC yet whenever I use
it in an application, the application will fail on other machines
because it's trying to use libogg.0.dylib.
I'm using the following configure command
./configure prefix=${HOME}/libFLAC --disable-asm-optimizations
--disable-dependency-tracking --with-ogg=${HOME}/libOGG
--enable-shared=no
but to do avail. Is there

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting...
===
There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems
with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity
data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always
possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving
to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business

format(object.size(...), units): KB, MB, and GB instead of Kb, Mb, and Gb?
I cannot remember if this has already been discussed or not, and I'm a
bit worried I'm throwing off an endless debate. If it's already
settled, no need to discuss it further.
TOPIC #1:
Shouldn't R use KB, MB and GB when reporting on sizes kilobytes,
megabytes and gigabytes? More specifically, format() for object_size
objects (returned by object.size()) uses Kb, Mb and Gb, which

RE: Shorewall Wiki
Good post Alex, I agree that all the talk of Wiki and FAQ''s are getting off
topic from what the main problem is... Tom dealing with questions already
answered in the faq. The documentation there is already very good. I also
think that shorewall-newbies is probably not the best way to go. The idea of

I have used WIP300, hitachi 5000 wireless phones on

However, I am looking for a WIFI phone with integrated

I have tried after market clips and holders and those just
don't work.
THanks for sharing if someone has found something
that works with asterisk.

Parallel computing on Windows (foreach) (Sergey Goriatchev)
foreach (or virtually anything you might use for concurrent programming)
only really makes sense if the work the "clients" are doing is substantial
enough to overwhelm the communication overhead. And there are many ways to
accomplish the same task more or less efficiently (for example, doing blocks
of tasks in chunks rather than passing each one as an individual job).

why it can not allocate 3.4 Gb on a 8GB memory machine. How to fix the
