1.6 cheatsheet
Hey has anyone seen a 1.6 cheatsheet around? Johnathan Snook did a nice 1.5 one but I''ve been working with 1.6 for a while and while I can use prototypejs.org, cheatsheets are handy for jogging memories.. I checked his blog, nothing there for 1.6. Gareth --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups

returning information from functions via attributes rather than return list
I would like to ask for advice from R experts about the benefits or dangers of using attr to return information with an object that is returned from a function. I have a feeling as though I have cheated by using attributes, and wonder if I've done something fishy. Maybe I mean to ask, where is the dividing line between attributes and instance variables? The separation is not clear in my mind

Simulating onmouseleave and onmouseenter with Prototype
Hello. I spent an hour or three chasing down a desired effect that mootools implements, namely the simulation of onmouseleave and onmouseenter events. Why? Lets say you have a Menu. A ul element that contains many li elements. If you want to have a function (maybe an effect) fire when the mouse moves outside of the ul, you are out of luck. Observe the mouseout function like so:

range() for Date and POSIXct could respect `finite = TRUE`
Hi All, I think there may be some possible confusion about what allowsInf would be reporting (or maybe its just me :) ) if we did this. Consider a class "myclass", S3, for starters, with setMethod("allowsInf", "myclass", function(obj) FALSE) Then, what would myclassthing <- structure(1.5, class = "mything") myclassthing[1] <- Inf do. Assumely it

IIS Change Notifications
Good afternoon all, I'm a web developer (c#) who also manages a small hosting environment. Roughly, our configuration is: Two IIS7 (Windows Server 2008 Web) servers which share configuration data and site files from a SMB share located on a ubuntu server. The ubuntu server is currently running 3.0.28a which is quite old, but read on. We've been having a problem with the change

unable to call R t-test from Java
Hello, My colleague and I would like to write Java code that invokes R to do a simple TTest. I've included my sample java code below. I tried various alternatives and am unable to pass a vector to the TTest method. In my investigation, I tried to call other R methods that take vectors and also ran into various degrees of failure. Any insight you can provide or other Web references you

ie-specific error in prototype try-catch block?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for debugging ie- specific errors? I have been working on a porting a prototype application that works fine in firefox to ie, and have run into several problems. For the latest one, the error message is not very informative. When trying to load the application, ie complains "Object doesn''t support this property or method." When

I'm trying to fit a naive Bayes model and predict on a new data set using the functions naivebayes and predict (package = e1071). R version 2.5.1 on a Linux machine My data set looks like this. prototype causing value undefined error
I have a project for which I used a Wicket template as a starting point. The original example uses prototype.js. This works fine in Safari 3 (Firefox doesn''t display the background image, but I''ll deal

prototype/script.aculo.us ecosystem
Recently errtheblog (http://errtheblog.com/) put up a nice post about jQuery. Putting aside all the assertions about cleaner code and fewer lines of code than with Prototype, the one thing that struck me from his (and others'') writing and from direct inspection is this: jQuery seems to have a more of an ecosystem surrounding it. That is, more plugins, widgets, locked-and-loaded

Prototype Question
I''m trying to apply a css class to all LI elements that are children of an element with the ID "idSelector". This is what I did and it works. But I was wondering if there was an easier way without having to use an anonymous function? $$("#idSelector li").each(function() { arguments[0].addClassName("myClass") }); Thanks in advance.

I posted the following earlier: "I need a way to do a blind up that makes the element APPEAR and a blind down that makes the element DISAPPEAR. In essence, the opposite of the current blindup/blinddown. Thoughts?" I think somebody responded in Dutch.
