Problem with toQueryParams()
I''m sure this has been covered before, but here goes... Anybody noticing some odd behavior with submitting forms through Ajax.Request? I thought at first it was a problem with Form.serialize, but was able to trace it back to line #975 (in prototype 1.5.1_rc2) which calls "toQueryParams" on the parameters that are passed into the new Ajax object if it is a string. This is the

sorting error "Error: item.id has no properties"
I''ve got some sorting working now, but when the page loads and when I drag, I keep getting this error: "Error: item.id has no properties" My <ul> and <li> elements all have ids. Do child elements all need ids? Here''s the code from dragdrop.js where the error is being thrown ( a few lines from the bottom of the file, line 501--HEAD version) serialize:

serialize()
Near the end of the Sortable.serialize() method, there is a split command that splits on an underscore. What is the convention it''s following here and is it documented somewhere? Thanks, Jamie serialize: function(element) { element = $(element); var sortableOptions = this.options(element); var options = Object.extend({ tag: sortableOptions.tag, only:

String.protoype.toQueryParams
Hi, I am trying to play with all the methods in the Array Object. Just wanted to check with you guys if this is the correct explanation of toQueryParams(). If yes, then I''ll add it to the documentation as well. Works for me (but I am not sure if it''s the correct way to use it). /* String.prototype.toQueryParams takes a query string, i.e, string with name value pairs

Problem using POST with IE 6
Hey guys, hope one of you can help me. I have the following code that works with Firefox but not within IE. The basic premise is that when using a POST to send to my page, IE doesn''t seem to send it and therefore doesn''t fire the database update. GET''s work fine in IE but due to the potential volume of text, a GET is not realistic. In Firefox, GETs and POSTs work as

AJAX Drag and Drop Detecting Drop Coordinates
This one''s kicking me in the *(&#^. All I want to do is create a draggable item and then detect the coordinates where it is dropped. So my first approach was to just use the draggable_element with :revert => false, like so: <%= draggable_element "my_element", :revert => false %> That works great and lets me drag stuff all over the place. In the scriptaculous

GET Using encodeURIComponent
In my site I use the GET method in Ajax.Request. The problem is that I make an encodeURIComponent in my personal JavaScript and call other personal method called "f_ajax" that implement the Ajax.Request. Then happens 2 encodeURIComponent with my params. Why the GET method make the encode? Could have an option in Ajax.Request to disable the encodeURIComponent in prototype (toQueryPair and

Re: Ajax.Request question with JSON return
Do I need something like this: eval(''('' + this.header(''X-JSON'') + '')'') (taken from Cody Swann, http://ajaxian.com/archives/prototype-extension-dynamic-script-pattern-support ). I''m guessing my problem is simpler, and I''m leaving something small out related to the header though. Thanks for any help -Mark 1. evalJSON:

JSON handling in Prototype 1.5.1_rc2
Hi, I try to use the JSON encoder/decoder on JSON string receive from an HTTPRequest. And it failed to handle characters with accents (çéèà...) giving me an parsing Exception. I think because the convertion from string to object is a simple eval ! This make Protoype unusable for non americain characterset application ! Or I miss something ! Sad ! Constant

dragdrop.js problems - workaround here
Hello, I am not sure how many people are using the shiny new tree version of dragdrop.js - well it seems that someone arbitrarily changed part of my implementation and has broken the functionality with rails: 864 serialize: function(element) { 865 element = $(element); 866 var options = Object.extend(Sortable.options(element), arguments[1] || {}); 867 var name =

Prototype & Cookies
Has anyone written any "cookie" class using prototype? Basically, what I am looking for is if there is an easy way to store mutiple cookies in a single cookie using hash or something - easy writing and retrieval (updating the cookie value). For eg - If I had 25 cookies for my domain 5 of the cookies would either get dropped or not be set (as there is a limit of 20 cookies per domain).
