[PATCH v3] IOMMU: keep disabled until iommu_setup() is called
The iommu is enabled by default when xen is booting and later disabled in iommu_setup() when no iommu is present. But under some circumstances iommu code can be called before iommu_setup() is processed. If there is no iommu available xen crashes. This can happen for example when panic(...) is called as introduced with the patch "x86-64: detect processors subject to AMD erratum #121 and

[PATCH] VTD/Intremap: Disable Intremap on Chipset 5500/5520/X58 due to errata
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/chipsets/5520-and-5500-chipset-ioh-specification-update.html Stepping B-3 has two errata (#47 and #53) related to Interrupt remapping, to which the workaround is for the BIOS to completely disable interrupt remapping. These errata are fixed in stepping C-2. Unfortunately this chipset is very common and many BIOSes are not disabling remapping. We can

[PATCH]x86:x2apic: Disable x2apic on x86-32 permanently
x86:x2apic: Disable x2apic on x86-32 permanently x2apic initialization on x86_32 uses vcpu pointer before it is initialized. As x2apic is unlikely to be used on x86_32, this patch disables x2apic permanently on x86_32. It also asserts the sanity of vcpu pointer before dereference to prevent further misuse. [PATCH] x86/ACPI/x2APIC: guard against out of range ACPI or APIC IDs
Other than for the legacy APIC, the x2APIC MADT entries have valid ranges possibly extending beyond what our internal arrays can handle, and hence we need to guard ourselves against corrupting memory here. [PATCH 3/3] x2APIC: improve enabling logic
This patch masks PIC and IOAPIC RTE''s before x2APIC enabling, unmask and restore them after x2APIC enabling. It also really enables interrupt remapping before x2APIC enabling instead of just checking interrupt remapping setting. This patch also handles all x2APIC configuration including BIOS settings and command line settings. Especially, it handles that BIOS hands over in x2APIC mode

Reboots and Panics(4.1.2/4.2-unstable)
Environment: ASRock Z86 Extreme4 - Intel i5 2500 http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Z68%20Extreme4 I have installed the latest UEFI patch(1.70) and all tests were run from a reset of everything to default. I have tested with both Ubuntu 11.10 and Fedora 16 and get the same results on both, including building xen 4.2-unstable. I bought this particular MB because it had a know working vt-d

vpmu=1 and running 'perf top' within a PVHVM guest eventually hangs dom0 and hypervisor has stuck vCPUS. Romley-EP (model=45, stepping=2)
This issue I am encountering seems to only happen on multi-socket machines. It also does not help that the only multi-socket box I have is an Romley-EP (so two socket SandyBridge CPUs). The other SandyBridge boxes I''ve (one socket) are not showing this. Granted they are also a different model (42). The problem is that when I run ''perf top'' within an SMP PVHVM guest,
