[PATCH 0/6] x86/HVM: miscellaneous RTC emulation adjustments
Finally I got around to breaking up the similarly named monolithic
patch that caused a regression shortly before the 4.2 release and
got therefore reverted. This series consists of the broken up
pieces that - according to my testing - don''t expose the reported
lockup; the 7th will need debugging to understand what''s wrong
there.
1: use RTC_* names instead of literal numbers

[PATCH v3 0/6] initial suspend support
This patch series makes suspend support in qemu alot more useful. Right
now the guest can put itself into s3, but qemu will wakeup the guest
instantly. With this patch series applied the guest will stay suspended
instead and there are a few events which can kick the guest out of
suspend state: A monitor command, ps/2 input, serial input, rtc. Not
much yet, but it''s a start with the

alloc_heap_pages is low efficient with more CPUs
I am confused with a problem:
I have a blade with 64 physical CPUs and 64G physical RAM, and defined only one VM with 1 CPU and 40G RAM.
For the first time I started the VM, it just took 3s, But for the second starting it took 30s.
After studied it by printing log, I have located a place in the hypervisor where cost too much time,
occupied 98% of the whole starting time.

[PATCH 3/5] RTC: Add UIP(update in progress) check logic
The UIP(update in progress) is set when RTC is in updating. And the update cycle begins 244us later after UIP is set.

[PATCH] hvm: Correct RTC time offset update error due to tm->tm_year
Hi
In rtc_set_time, mktime is called to calculate seconds since 1970/01/01,
input parameters of mktime are required to be in normal date format.
Such as: year=1980, mon=12, day=31, hour=23, min=59, sec=59. However,
the current input parameter of mktime is tm->tm_year, and it is the
number of years since 1900. (For example, if current time is 2012/12/31,
and tm->tm_year is 112). This is

Time just moved backwards
Hi there,
I got a daily cron (rdate to local time server) job wich adjusts time and
which constantly gives me headache.
Every day my dovecot suicides with:
"dovecot: Time just moved backwards by 11 seconds. This might cause a lot of
problems, so I'll just kill myself now."
Of course my onboard clock is constantly off by more than 5 secs.
I don't want
to abandon time

[PATCH]x86:vlapic: Fix possible guest tick losing after save/restore
x86:vlapic: Fix possible guest tick losing after save/restore
Guest vcpu may totally lose all ticks if the vlapic->pt.irq was not restored during save/restore process. Fix it.

MeetMe() and dahdi_dummy on an embedded system
I'm playing around with an ALIX 2D2 board (http://www.pcengines.ch/alix2d2.htm). It's a fanless, x86 system using an AMD Geode processor with 256MB of RAM. Also available are two network interfaces, two USB ports and one serial port (no keyboard or VGA). I'm using the Voyage Linux distro, which basically is Debian Lenny optimized for this board.
Asterisk 1.6.1.12 runs fine on the

late lapic timer interrupts for hvm guest
Hi,
When using lapic as timer source the hypervisor delivers timer interrupts
late.
In the source xen/arch/x86/hvm/vpt.c function create_periodic_time creates a
timer element with a "bonus" of 50% of the desired time until the interrupt:
pt->scheduled = NOW() + period;
/*
* Offset LAPIC ticks from other timer ticks. Otherwise guests which use

Asterisk Dry Run
Hi everyone,
I just installed asterisk on my system with the purpose of rerouting calls
on sip channels.
I don't think i need any hardware for that.
I am using LIPZ4(zultys) and sjphone as softphones. I tried setting up both
of them and to call one from the other on the same machine, however could
not.
I 1-) I could connect sjphone in isolation to freeworld dialup howver i got

[PATCH 00/14] Remove old_portio users for memory region PIO mapping
When running on PowerPC, we don''t have native PIO support. There are a few hacks
around to enable PIO access on PowerPC nevertheless.
The most typical one is the isa-mmio device. It takes MMIO requests and converts
them to PIO requests on the (QEMU internal) PIO bus.
This however is not how real hardware works and it limits us in the ability to
spawn eventfd''s on PIO ports

Align periodic vpts to reduce timer interrupts and save power
Hi,
After c/s 18694 changed vHPET to vpt, for single HVM RHEL 5u1 guest idle case, our box will consume ~0.8W more power than before. The reason is two periodical vpts'' expires are hard to be aligned in the 50us soft timer SLOP. So we are considering a vpt specific enhancement which could try to just align periodical timers within vpt.
A generic enhancement is to add a new interface
