How to boot Ubuntu 9.04(Jaunty) or Debian Lenny (vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-686-bigmem) as domU under Lenny''s vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-xen-686 as dom0. PVM''s initrd issue
Hello, I guess it possible distro specific issue but is it resolvable? I have one node(testing purpose) ganeti 2.0.1 cluster installed over Debian5 Lenny. Almost everything from distro repositories. Only ganeti 2.0.1 and ganeti-debootstrap are from sources. I have it successful run with vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-xen-686 and initrd.img-2.6.26-2-xen-686 from repositories. Both Dom0 and DomU are use the

Mail delivery failing with 450
I'm not sure why this started, but apparently I'm having a DNS problem. Yesterday mail started bouncing with this error: 450 Unable to find obrien-pifer.com I think the messages eventually get delivered, but not sure. I guess I'll see if this one makes the list. I checked my domain using http://www.checkdns.net/ and it gives me a couple warnings. One is that there's no MX

Smoothwall Appliance in Xen
Is anyone here running Smoothwall Appliance as a VM in Xen? We''re running it right now, but it''s running fully virtualized instead of para-virtualized. Anyone know if it can run as a PV? It crashed yesterday with only a 100 user sessions on it. Not much in the log except: [2010-12-06 15:03:31 7341] WARNING (image:559) domain prxy3: device model failure: pid 22922: malfunctioning

how can you boot an existing linux domU off the cdrom on sles11 dom0?
I have a sles10 domU running on a sles11 dom0. xen is version 3.4. We''re trying to pass through a scsi card to the domU. We assign the domU the scsi card through virt manager. When we try to boot the domU it won''t boot. We need to update fstab and menu.lst, but we need to boot with the hardware attached to see how it''s being seen by the domU. On a physical machine we

lpxelinux.0 issues with larger initrd.img files from RHEL >= 7.5 on UCS servers?
Hello, I am using lpxelinux.0 (latest stable version 6.03, using the official binaries from kernel.org) to kickstart servers as http transfers really helps over links with poor latencies... These servers are being booted in legacy mode, not in UEFI. This has worked very well until recently. Starting with RHEL 7.5, on some servers, we would see the machine rebooting while pxelinux is in the

Xen on 32bit machine with 8GB of RAM
I wanted to install Xen on 32bit processor with 8GB RAM. I am running Debian on it. The general Kernel can only address ~4GB of RAM. So, Is it necessary to install BigMEM kernel so that all the memory get addressed? And then install xen kernel. Or ?? Suggestions welcome. Trying to upgrade domU to squeeze
Hello, Not sure this is the right place to ask Xen user-questions. I am running Lenny and try to upgrade a domU to Squeeze. After the installation of a new xen-kernel in the domU and upgrading udev I did a reboot but then the kernel does not find the root anymore, and it's dropping me to a shell. When I look into /dev/ I don't see any disks or partions. Is here somebody who can help me

lpxelinux.0 issues with larger initrd.img files from RHEL >= 7.5 on UCS servers?
> Is there something I could do A_ Instead of 6.03, try 6.04-pre1 (not pre2 and not pre3, but pre1). Please remember to change _all_ related files to the same version, not just lpxelinux.0. Alternatively (and in many cases, even better) you could try current Debian's "Unstable" packages, which are "more up-to-date" than 6.04-pre1. B_ In the configuration file,

Disabling Firewall/iptables on CentOS 7??
I apologize if this has been asked and answered, but I googled and attempted things for several hours today without success. GPLPV or other drivers for win2k8r2?
Hi. I have some new 64bit Windows 2008 R2 domU''s running on SLES11/xen_3.4.2. What is everyone using to get 1gb network performance on win2k8? I''ve used GPLPV on win2k3, but I see you have to sign the drivers yourself for 64bit. Maybe that process isn''t difficult, I only glance at the link from gplpv''s page. What is everyone using? GPLPV is about the only

asterisk and bigmem kernel
Hi all, I installed asterisk 1.4.22 on a Dell poweredge 2950, with 4GB RAM. I used debian, but the default kernel doesn't recognize the 4GB, just 3, so I installled the linux-image-2.6.18-6-686-bigmem kernel, that do recognize the whole 4GB. Asterisk seems to be installed correctly, but I had two issues: (1) I had an error with zaptel. Asterisk didn't start with zaptel modules loaded. I

access to httpd logs
I need to enable some access to the httpd logs over ftp so they can be analyzed by another application to get a report. I used to do this on Windows NT before replacing the server with CentOS. Thanks to help from another thread I have an ftp server enabled on the web server. I thought the easiest thing to do would be to create an id for the application to connect with, then provide a symlink to
