xen3 domU on xen4 dom0
Greetings! Trying to to run a xen3 domU on a xen4 dem0 I run into problems. The xen server ''XEN1''(dom0) is openSUSE-11.3 (kernel 2.6.34) and xen-4.0.1. With qemu I created an image ''M08.raw'' from the SUSE-9.3 (kernel 2.6.11) and XEN-3.0 installation CD''s. The XEN modules were included in the installation. In M08.raw/boot I configured grub/menu.lst:

how to get rhel3-ish distro run as domu with xen3
hello! i think i have an very common problem. i want to run a distro based on a 2.4 kernel (Scientific Linux 3/Centos 3/RHEL 3) in xen3 as domu. the dom0 is a 2.6 based and works fine. so i think the way to go is to "simply" use an 2.6 kernel. but now i see there are several things which don''t work for example module-init-tools are missing and i expect problems with the glibc.

I have just applied this to staging-4.1. Since my own backport and Bastian''s were entirely identical, I haven''t tested it other than to compile it... xen3 on file backed partitions
Hi list, I''m running xen3 on verious systems and are very happy with the way it works. My set up is based on files as partitions but I have encountered a problem I can only create 4 partitions this way since all are primary partitions. Are there any solution to this problem other than move the domU''s to real partitions ? Thanks in advance Karsten

[PATCH RFC] add domain builder support for bzImage kernels
This implements a loader for version 2.07 boot protocol bzImage format files. This allows a single bzImage kernel file to boot either native from a normal bootloader (grub, etc), or paravirtualized under Xen. These bzImages have two changes to make this possible: 1. There's a new field for the bootloader to tell the booted kernel what kind of environment its coming up under. We

How to convert a Rd file into multi html files?
Hi, I wrote all documents for each objects in my package in one .Rd file. Now I can't convert the .Rd file into multi html files such that a html file corresponds a object in package. The command I used was ' R CMD Rdconv -t html foo.Rd'. It just converted the document of first object in .Rd into html format. I had to write a perl script to satisfy myself. But is there a more direct

Bug#387361: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64: Xen3 keeps rebooting on AMD64X2
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.0-amd64 Version: 3.0.2+hg9697-2 Severity: normal Hi DDs, I tried to install the binaries for Xen3, AMD64 flavour on Etch. Everything seemed ok - even the menu.lst got updated nicely and autmagically. Still, after a reboot into the Xen Dom0, the machine just reboots again and again. I added 'noreboot' and made a screenshot named 'xenboot.jpg', which

Xen3 on Etch - Rebooting when 2nd DomU started
Hi All, Fairly new to Debian and Xen but I have a box running with lots of DomUs under Xen2 and it is fine. I have setup a new IBM eServer P4 and loaded Etch and loaded Xen3. It runs up my first DomU beautifully but when I start my second DomU it crashes the PC and reboots. If I comment out the line in /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp (network-script network-bridge) It will run 2 DomUs Have I run

Re: Xen-users Digest, Vol 95, Issue 8
I''m just a newb at xen, but here''s what I can tell you from my own experience getting xend going: The appropriate features for evtchn and gntdev must be turned on in the kernel. Check /boot/config-`uname -r` to see if CONFIG_XEN_GNTDEV=y and CONFIG_XEN_DEV_EVTCHN=m (maybe y is okay? I''m not sure). Just do it to verify that the precompiled kernel has the options you

Xen3: Network becomes unreachable under load
Hello, we have the problem: We run 7 blades with a xen 3.0.1tha3 configuration (with the patches for debian from debianbase.de), which a is xenisied 2.6.12.6-kernel. Everything runs fine until we start producing heavy load on the network (e.g. multiple clients access our maxdb database), the dom0 and the domU network becomes unreachable (i.e. only every 100th-200th ping gets through).

bridging troubles with Xen3
Hi, I''ve been having troubles with bridge networking in Xen3. RHEL4 is running in dom0 and Debian sarge in domU. Both domains get their IPs from an external DHCP server. dom0 starts up OK and gets its IP from the server. (all networking services work fine; in and out) domU starts up OK and sometimes gets its IP while sometimes fails to get the IP. In any case, after logging into domU

Xen4 + Remus + iSCSI
Hello, we are using debian, xen 3.x and a iscsi-storage with ext4 as filesystem. Heartbeat is used for xen-ha. Now we like to change to xen 4 and remus. The iscsi SAN is available on active-Dom0 and backup-Dom0. I don´t have to use the disk buffering, as I understand remus right, because the file system on both machines is the same. With ext4 we don´t had problems at the xen3-Cluster on

Bug#658100: xl: hangs in qemu-dm when trying to run PV domU
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-1 Severity: normal Hi, I was doing some experiments today with XL TOOLSTACK, and found few problems when trying to do PV domU boot. I was trying to run kfreebsd9 or linux-3.2 kernel in qemu using PV i386, and with simple configuration without any disks, nics or virtual framebuffer, kernel boots (and then kernel itselfs correctly fails with information
