pv_ops dom0 testing
I am trying to get a pv_ops dom0 working for testing,
but I am running into an elf_init error:
(XEN) *** LOADING DOMAIN 0 ***
(XEN) elf_init: not an ELF binary
Full output attached.
>From what I have read on the mailing lists, it seems
that it is usually a problem with either grub or a
corrupt dom0 kernel.
Attached is my kernel config (2.6.28-rc6-tip).
I followed the instructions on:

recognizing correct number of cores on CPU
I just installed centos 5.5 x86_64 on a new HP laptop.
It has the core i5 processor.
only 1 cpu is detected should be 2.
This has happened before. Is upstream not keeping up with
new processors released and updating the kernel?
I'd rather not go through the process again of putting a newer kernel
on the machine and having something different out there than "stock" centos.

How do I check if the proper sata drivers are being loaded?
If they are not what can I do other then rebuilding the kernel?
Thank you in advance,
Randy

Please boot with loglvl=all on the hypervisor command line for this too.

(no subject)
OK, so after several weeks of trying to get various versions of Xen running of various distributions, I''m starting to wonder if I''ve got a hardware compatibility problem and as the system never really boots with the Xen kernel I''ve got no log files to tell me where the problem is. I was wondering if there''s a way to compile from source with debug turned on,

SATA DVD Burner / AHCI / CentOS 4.7 (kernel: 2.6.9-78.0.22.EL)
OK, it seems that the kernel I have (stock CentOS 4.7: 2.6.9-78.0.22.EL i686)
seems to gronk the nVideo SATA controller in AHCI mode. It is NOT able
to deal with the SATA DVD Burner I have. It is a "Sony Optiarc DVD
Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model AD-7241S-0B LightScribe
Support". Is there some special magic I need to do? Here is the
relevant bit from the boot up (SATA ports

Stall on CPU
Hi,
I have been receiving messages on a new DomU''s kern.log. I''ve done a lot
of googling, but haven''t came up with anything very useful, at least not
in a Xen context.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about what could be wrong.
From everything I have read, there should be a stack trace included, but
I am not seeing one.
Thanks in advance,
Ian.

eDP screen corruption using linux 3.8 & xen 4.2
Konrad, et al,
I am seeing visual corruption (almost like an interlacing problem) with
i915 under Xen on some platforms using linux-3.8.
See attached file for an example of the visual corruption.
This particular platform is an HP Elitebook 2540p
The same kernel and ramdisk, when booted as native linux does not show this
corruption.
dmesg is attached, as well (out.txt) - but I did not see

CentOS 5 + Nforce 4 SLI Intel SATA problems
I've been having an extremely hard time using the on board SATA
controller on my nvidia based board. I have two 160gig Maxtor SATA
drives attached to the on board controller, setup as software raid0. The
problem is the array is extremely unreliable, where I'm getting constant
I/O errors like:
sd 0:0:0:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x00040000
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector

Slow performance
Hi folks.
I'm posting this to both the Fedora as well as the CentOS lists in
hopes that somewhere, someone can help me figure out what's going on. I
have a dual Xeon 3GHz server that's performing rather slow when it comes
to disk activities.
The machine is configured with a single 160 GiB OS drive (with
CentOS 5.0) and 4x500 GiB drives setup in a RAID-5 configuration.

Help with nouveau driver
For some reason it seems to fail somewhere in either
nouveau_display_create or nouveau_display_init. Kernel 3.16 is nearly
2 years old though, and countless changes and fixes have gone into the
nouveau kernel driver since then. Does this still happen with a recent
kernel?
You can try a livecd from https://nouveau.pmoreau.org/ which has all
the very latest nouveau-related software.

HotPlug, eSATA, and /media
Ok, got a quickie.
I have an eSATA drive, a 750GB Seagate in an eSATA external enclosure, and a
Silicon Image sil3132 ExpressCard controller for my laptop. The disk and
controller work great in CentOS 5 (or F7, for that matter), if I specifically
mount it.
This is not how I want to have to use this drive, however. I want to hotplug
it; that is, plug the controller into the laptop, and then
