Bug#658100: xl: hangs in qemu-dm when trying to run PV domU
Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.2-1 Severity: normal Hi, I was doing some experiments today with XL TOOLSTACK, and found few problems when trying to do PV domU boot. I was trying to run kfreebsd9 or linux-3.2 kernel in qemu using PV i386, and with simple configuration without any disks, nics or virtual framebuffer, kernel boots (and then kernel itselfs correctly fails with information

How to create a Xen PV DomU with a dvd ISO image, using xl/xm
Hello, I was looking to create a Xen DomU with a .iso image saved in the hard disk. I ran into some trouble with http based install, hence looking at this option. This is what i have currently. Just wanted to know if I am on the right track here, and hoping to get some tips if somebody has similar experience. I compiled Xen 4.1.5 from source on a Fedora 17 Dom0, and I want to create DomU

Simplest way to demonstrate a RoR app
Hi, I have built a simple RoR application and would like to show it to some friends. I would like to assign a dyndns URI like "myapp.dyndns.org" address to point to the application. As the WEBrick/Mongrel servers are running in "localhost (so loopback connections)" and I couldn''t bind them to the external server name or couldn''t bind them to my IP

xl and console problems with pv-grub?
Hi everyone, I just got this issue where pv-grub would not become visible after I did ''xl create -c host''. Turned out that Xen on Archlinux, for which I use a modified PKGBUILD, does not create /var/run/xen. So if you have this problem too then just let the xencommons rc script create that directory after each boot. At least it solved this problem. Sometimes things can be so

using iso file as cdrom for pv domU is not working on xl toolstack (qdisk)
I have an issue on Xen 4.2+ (now on yesterday''s tip) where when I try to use an iso image as cdrom for a pv domU, it appears that the devices is an unusable state on the domU side. DomU kernel output: http://bpaste.net/show/63482/ xen logs: http://bpaste.net/show/63490/ udevadm monitor output: http://bpaste.net/show/63481/ I can work around this issue easily by creating a loop back

XL: pv guests dont reboot after migration (xen4.1.2-rc2-pre)
A pv guest will not reboot after migration, the guest itself does everything right, including the shutdown, but xl does not recreate the guest, it just shuts it down. This goes for 2.6.39 and 3.0.4 guest kernels, havent tried different ones. I also haven tried different xen versions. Dont know if this would affect hvm, probably not since qemu leaves the guest running and does a

Hello On Xen 4.0 there is xend/xm stack which uses the configuration file xend-config. On Xen 4.1, the stach xl is prefered. How to configure parameters for live DomU migration, VNC, memory balooning, etc. if xl does not use configuration file xend-config? Simplest way of executing a non-blocking (async) python AGI script?
I use a python AGI which pulls some info from a web service, which should take half a second. Sometimes, it takes 5-10 seconds which blocks the dialplan execution, but the dialplan should continue immediately as it's not dependent on the AGI/web service data. What's the simplest, easiest quickest least-code way of firing off an AGI with some variable, and then returning to the dialplan?

Bug#744159: HVM guest can't be saved/migrated with xl
Package: xen-utils-4.1 Version: 4.1.4-3+deb7u1 Severity: normal It seems to be impossible to save or migrate HVM guest using the xl toolstack. Trying to do so hangs the process initiating the action, and the domU can't be shut down with the 'xl shutdown' command after this. 'xl destroy' works. The domain keeps running during the save operation, doesn't get paused for any

Is there a way to differentiate PV-on-HVM devices from qemu-dm devices?
Hi folk, I''m recently doing some work on VNIF driver, however, when I enabled both qemu-dm devices and pv devices, the pv driver complains. It seems two kinds of devices have very similar entries in xenstore, which misled the driver. I remembered in the past, there is a `type:ioemu'' entry in xenstore to represent dm devices, but it was removed. There used to be a
