Heterogeneous XCP 1.6 pool
Hi, I''ve been trying to use E5520 and X5650 together in an heterogeneous pool without success. I know the combination is not on the official XenServer supported list (http://hcl.xensource.com/CPUPoolsList.aspx), but I thought it would be possible to set the mask anyway and see for myself if the combination works… My problem is that the mask doesn''t "stick" after a

possible ext4 handling bug in syslinux 6.03
Hi, I've spent few long hours on weekend trying to get syslinux as boot loader for my alpine linux. Long story short: Failing to load ldlinux.c32 on ext4, but after changing file system from ext4 to ext3, everything worked (all other things being the same). Details below, my setup is fairly complicated so this is might be a partial reason, ALTHOUGH final and the only change which makes

Wanted: XCP 1.1 tutorial for creating VMs from scratch using xe CLI
Hello, It is nearly not possible to use XCP without a tutorial, in particular if ones has to use the xe CLI. Reading of reference.pdf and guests.pdf of XenServer and different wiki pages didn''t help enough. Even *XCP seems to be a very good software* it will be useless without good documentation because of it''s complexity. Thank you in advance for any hints. Regards, Mark

Re: [Xen-devel] xen 4.1.2* dhcp issue/bug when installing/booting HVM domU domains (CentOS 6, unbuntu 11.04 server). Debian/OpenSolaris work fine.
Thanks a lot for your hints Pasi. Due to your suggestion I open a new thread here. I have tested with model=e1000 (HVMs). As HVM configs are identical (not iso images and LVM volumes) I guess it is a xen 4.1.2* issue .. or just involved domU OS-kernels (however as it is HVM it should not play any role) Tested and correctly working OSes (getting an IP address and pinging of

LLD-linked binary segfaults at runtime on alpine linux
Can you add `--reproduce=repro` to lld command line? That generates repro.tar in your current directory which contains all input files. And then please compress and upload it somewhere so that we can take a look. LLD-linked binary segfaults at runtime on alpine linux
Alpine linux is a distribution that uses musl libc instead glibc. Here are my steps to reproduce: On Alpine linux, download LLVM, Clang, LLD 6.0.0 from releases.llvm.org, and build them from source. $ clang -c hello_world.c $ ld.lld --gc-sections -m elf_x86_64 -o hello_world /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-alpine-linux-musl/6.4.0/../../../../lib/Scrt1.o

XCP vs Xen on CentOS and Dell OpenManage
Hello, I just tried out XCP and I was surprised to see it looks pretty much like Xen from Citrix. Based on the RPM packages installed, I assume XCP is based on RHEL5. With that in mind, I have a few questions that I did not find an answer on the web... Perhaps I didn''t look in the right places, so if you know about any good documentations that I should read please share it :)

Using Dovecot code in a non-LGPL package
Hi Timo (and all!), Venaktesh is a friend of mine working on a patch to the venerable Alpine mail reader so it can read Maildir format mailboxes on disk. Venkatesh wanted to know if he could use some code from Dovecot's lib-storage (safely opening/reading Maildirs, including accounting for NFS and ESTALE) and the UID->message mapping code. This way, Dovecot and Alpine would agree on
