xenstored cannot start
Hi,
My base system is Gentoo x64, and I compiled my kernel with Xen
paravirtualization support. The kernel can boot without any problem in
native mode. But when boot in Xen mode, I cannot start the xenstored
service. This is my grub config file:

Hi,
I have successfully start my Win7 x86 domU on my x64 Xen dom0 system. Now I
want to give my Win7 full access to my Nvidia card.

I''ve looked everywhere for the error message I''ve posted in the title,
doesn''t seem like anyone else has it (lots of missing hotplugs scripts).

LSI SAS2008 Option Rom Failure
Hi-
I am trying to pass an LSI SAS2008-based HBA (IBM M1015) through to an

A list search yielded

Can''t get NAT access to internet from Dom U in my small network
I have followed the nat advice from this guide:
http://wiki.kartbuilding.net/index.php/Xen_Networking#Routed_Networking_with_NAT_2
I have googled internet for weeks and read almost every thread in this forum
without getting a working NAT on my system.
My main question is how exactly will the iptable rules with MASQUERADE or
POSTROUTING look like if you want access to the internet from Dom U ,

what is pci-stub/new_id?
Hi,
I want to enable vga pass through, so to let my Win7 system use my Nvidia
card directly. I searched for a long time, and many posts have mentioned
something like this:
echo 11f8 8032 >> /sys/bus/pci/drivers/pci-stub/new_id
I understand to let the PCI device pass through, I need to unbind it from
dom0 and bind it to domU. But what is this new_id form? And how do I know
the id value to

bridge with IP address, "received packet with own address as source address"
Hi,
I''ve set up identical (what I think) machines using SLES 10 x86_64, but a new one
of those is saying frequently in /var/log/messages:

A short summary of ifconfig looks like this:

help--dom0 network goes unpingable when xend starts
I installed 64-bit xen 3.1.0 (from xensource.com tarballs) on
three new machines today, using a configuration setup that I''ve
used successfully many times before. However, I encountered a
new problem.
These are Dell Poweredge 1950 servers, by the way.

memory map issues with PV PCI passthrough
I have a system with several reserved ranges low in the e820 map which

One more time with the PAE request, this time I''ve brought up the

NAT: pings/DNS works but not the rest
Hello everybody,
I''m new to Xen so forgive me if this is already well known issue.
I''m using Ubuntu server 7.04 (feisty) with Xen 3.0.3
Everything works perfectly, apart from networking in NAT mode.
With bridging it works, with NAT it works, well, quite strange.
Namely, pings go through and name resolution works.
But when I try to use anything substantial, then

64bit guest on top of 64bit hypervisor+dom0 does not boot with virsh while it does with xm command
I installed xen on top of Cent OS 5.3 64bit OS with gitco rpm sources.
Everything works fine except that I can''t run 64bit pv guest with virsh
command.
With xm commands I can load the same guest.
32bit pv guest, 32 bit and 64bit hvm works fine with both virsh and xm
command.
Has anyon have any idea?
any help will be largely appreciated.

how to enable dom0 and domu share same physical network...
Hi,
I have two physical machines connected through a switch in a 192.168.1.* subnet. Dom0''s are assigned static ip addresses 192.168.1.100, 192.168.1.101 respectively. Dom0''s can ping each other. Each physical machine has a domu guest and static address assigned to domu''s are 192.168.1.200, 192.168.1.201 respectively.
However domu''s can neither ping each other

how to configure ne2k emulation?
I''ve searched all night long on google, discussions, threads, and the xen wiki... but I can''t find how to do this:

where should I put this?
