Unresponsive nodes with no pending task in the dashboard
Hi, Since this morning all nodes are showing as unresponsive. I have faced a similar error before and the problem was fixed restarting the dashboard-workers as there were many pending task in the puppet dashboard. I am using Puppet Enterprise 2.7.1 version. I have already checked/done: * Restarted the puppetmaster server * Check that puppet-dashboard-workers are working * Time is synced

facter-1.6.0 incorrectly identifies hardware node as virtual
I''ve installed facter-1.6.0 and puppet-2.7.3 on a number of SLES 10 hardware nodes (HP DL580) running the Virtuozzo hosting software. Well, facter correctly identifies such a machine as a hardware node ("virtual => openvzhn") but somehow concludes that the hardware node is in fact virtual. ("is_virtual => true") This breaks some rather important logic. If

testing for truth, are the docs correct?
According to the documentation at http://docs.puppetlabs.com/puppet/2.7/reference/lang_conditional.html#if-statements, you can test for truth with syntax like this: if $is_virtual == ''true'' { AFAICT that''s not the case. The quotes around ''true'' make the comparison always fail. Here''s my test case class users {

.vimrc File Disappeared and Saw vimrc and .viminfo Files in My Home Directory
Hi, I'm not sure what's going on ;-( updated a .vimrc file in my home directory with some customized settings last week. I'm looking at my home directory now, that .vimrc file disappeared for no reason and I saw a file called vimrc and .viminfo in the home directory. Of course, it didn't take my customized settings when I used vim. Is that a normal behavior? Am I missing

[LLVMdev] Vim auto completion
Hi, I have been watching the vim/clang autocompletion in utils/vim/vimrc for a while. What is the status of this work? The last information I got is, that there where still some patches missing, but this was before the clang-2.8. Any updates? Is it supposed to work with clang-2.8? Thanks Tobi

puppet dashboard with \n\n\n
Greetings, I''ve setup puppet dashboard 1.2.23 along with puppetmaster 2.7.18. I am seeing many \n strings all over the place when looking at reports. Specifically the \n''s are in the Metrics, Log, Events links. My nodes are showing up okay, and it seems just to be a problem with the reports. For instance, a Metrics page starts with: \n \n Metrics \n \n Events

is_virtual selector
I too have been pushed into Puppet 3.0. Clients and PuppetMaster are now at 3.0.0. Not sure if this is a version change or syntax error that I am experiencing. We''ll use ''ntp'' as the example and the "build" host is a VM. The old way: class baseline::ntpd { package { "ntp": ensure => $virtual ? { physical => present,

[LLVMdev] Propose to use rest.vim for vimrc of LLVM
Hello list, I use LLVM's vimrc and found that this setting below is useful when editing of reStructuredText file. llvm/utils/vim/vimrc " Enable syntax highlighting for reStructuredText files. [LLVMdev] Vim auto completion
The clang patches are now applied, so vim auto completion now works mostly out-of-the-box -- just build clang, set up your PATH for clang and clang++, and copy utils/vim/vimrc to ~/.vimrc (or symlink, or do your own thing). To configure the clang command-line, look for the g: configuration variables in the vimrc file. I'm open to suggestions about the handling of function parameters. One

Vim differences between C4 and C5
I have installed CentOS 4.5 and 5 on 2 separate machines, and both have default installs of vim-enhanced on each of them. I noticed that I can get syntax highlighting as a regular user, sudo and as root in C4.5. In C5 I only get highlighting as a regular user. I diff'ed my /etc/vimrc files between each install there is no changes and neither root ~ has a .vimrc file. I had put "# vim:

Frustrating warning/error from puppetd
Greetings all, (Hopefully this won''t be a HTML mail.) I''ve picked up puppet as a tool to manage a fairly small network of RHEL servers, and I''m really liking what I see so far. However, I''m having a pile of trouble with a class definition for a yum controller: # $Id$ class yum-rhel5 { file { "/etc/yum.conf": mode => 644,
