I've downloaded them files several times from different locations (suspected
my webgw might muck with the content) using different clients and the result
is the same:

freebsd ports provider
I''d like to clarify some points about the ports/package system in FreeBSD. I apoligize
ahead of time if this is
Both packages and ports use the pkgdb system. This isn''t some lame cludge; it''s by design,
and the reason is really quite simple. Packages are built from the ports collection. The
only real difference between them is the mode of delivery.

Bug in R CMD INSTALL when handling invalid LazyData DESCRIPTION field
Hi, I think I've found a bug in R CMD INSTALL. When it tries to parse a

trying to print the correct error message:

PATCH: XMMS year bug
Hi, this is a patch to fix a bug in the XMMS plugin. The problem is
that with the current version (1.1.0) it is impossible to get the year
field to show up in the playlist, even if it's properly set in the
file. The diff below fixes the problem.

"No space left on device" at 69%
Hi,
there''s no information about reporting bugs in the btrfs wiki, so I try it
here.
For testing purposes, I have put all my Gentoo portage (build, distfiles, etc.)
related LVs into one 10G btrfs with 4 subvolumes.
While building OpenOffice yesterday, it failed with a "No space left on device"
error, although the LV was only 69% full in total.

rsync 3.0.2 with --fileflags on FreeBSD: cannot rsync hardlinked immutable files
Hi *,
it seems rsync with --fileflags isn't able to work on (already)
hardlinked and immutable ("schg") files on FreeBSD. The following
scripts will create a simple example for this behaviour:

#! /bin/sh

#
set -x
DIR="/var/tmp/rsync_$(date +%s)/"
mkdir "${DIR}/"

DES, eBones and crypt availble for non-US!
Hello World!
(In particular, that part of it ouside the USA and Canada)
I have (with official sanction of the organisation concerned)
a LEGAL site for the distribution of crypt and Kerberos code.
The secure code (crypt) is _identical_ to the US code. It originated in
South Africa and Australia, and has never been to the US, so it is totally
kosher. The Kerberos (eBones actually) code stared out

Hi Puppeteers!
I''ve been using puppet for a little over a half year, and I''m very
pleased with it. Until recently, I couldn''t get reporting to work,
but after finding the culprit, it works just fine.
Every day Puppet reports lines like the following:

Perl master site changed to tobez.org?
Tobez: no disrespect intended, obviously you saw a problem with the
master sites for perl 5.8.7 and did what you could to help, and with
your position as a maintainer, I know that the trust we have in you and
your patches is well earned, so don't take this question as anything but
my well-earned paranoia rearing its ugly head:
Yes, building perl5.8.7 did seem like it had a lot of problems

MD5 checksum missmatch for bpft4
Hello freebsd-security,
Apologize if it's offtopic, but:
The message digest checksum for bpft4 from ports/net/bpft does not
matchs the one printed on the sources page at
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/pds.cgi?ports/net/bpft
My digests are 3810114b068f438cc7e8e0b1af745953 from top 6 links.
Only last ftp://rusunix.org/pub/FreeBSD/distfiles/bpft4-latest.tgz
gave the right cheksum -
