converting NSCA HDF5 files to ASCII
Hi All,
I am struggling with the task of converting some MODIS remotes sensed
image data in HDF5 format to ASCII format. I have found oblique
references to the HDF format in the help files for the packages hdf5,
RnetCDF, and ncdf, but nothing that appears to read in an HDF format
file and produce an ASCII grid file. I am hoping to avoid having to move
to another platform, and I have about

Do you know if you can map a large minimum spanning tree in R?
Thanks Mike.
My data has longitude and latitude coords and I used distAB {clim.pact}
then mst {ape} to calculate my minimum spanning tree. The nodes are
telecoms sites from all over Australia. My goal is to determine the
minimum cost of linking them via cabling, and I'm starting by
calculating the distance "as the crow flies", but will probably
eventually need to calculate the

rsync check by nagios NCSA
Hello everyone
I'm using rsync over ssh
rsync -ave ssh bla@bla.tld:/home /backup/server1
This works great for many years now
Now I'm playing with Nagios and NSCA but how can I detect if rsync has
done everything well.
nsca works simple

I have a text file named backup_okay with

nagios command-plugins: unexpected token
Hi
I just installed nagios et al[1] in my Centos-5.2 (x86). When I try to
test the configuration file it fails[2] with the message "Unexpected
token or statement(...)".
The line is:
command[notify-by-email]=/usr/bin/printf "$OUTPUT$" | /bin/mail -s
'$SERVICESTATE$ alert for $HOSTALIAS$/$SERVICEDESC$' $CONTACTEMAIL$
But if I comment this line, then I got the same

Terrible exported resources performance
Hi,
Since the below is a little long, I put my question at the top: how do I
troubleshoot awful exported resources performance in puppet and is there
anything I can tweak to get it to run under 10 minutes in larger
environments?
I have a fairly modest environment (118 nodes, but prod will be at least
twice as large). I''m trying to move my distributed nagios setup to one

Hello, My name is Raphael.
Nice to meet you online... ^.^
I have 1 question about smbd and nmbd ...
I'm engaged in the project for making some internet apparatus.
And I want to install samba package on our system. So, I have
cross-compiled that package for strong-arm..
And I have tested some operations like 'smbclient, smbmount'..
It worked so well....

Trigger an event after a puppet run
Hi,
We''d like to run puppet regularly in noop then trigger an event after
the run depending on the results, namely to hook puppet in to our
Nagios implementation so that if anything changes for any reason we
receive an alert.
We already have puppet configured to send out puppet reports via email
but don''t want to completely rely on that.
Is it possible to craft a trigger of

Automating infrastructure tests on Puppet nodes after a puppetrun
Hi List,
I would like to discuss with whoever is interested one topic that I
suppose has general interest.
I want to implement some kind of automatic testing on the status of a
node after a Puppet Run.
These tests involve trivial and less trivial things things like:
- A local service is running
- A local port is open
- A remote server on a remote port is reachable by the node
- An URL replies

Hi,

predicted time length differs from survfit.coxph:
Hello All,
Does anyone know why length(fit1$time) < length(fit2$n) in survfit.coxph
output? Why is the predicted time length is not the same as the number of
samples (n)?
I tried: example(survfit.coxph).
Thanks,

maildirsize having incorrect content, how to recreate/correct?
Hi List,
I have (otherwise successfull) migrated a server from cyrus to dovecot
(Mac OS X Server 10.5.8 to 10.6.4 [dovecotd version to be
1.1.20apple0.5]).
There are ca. 300+ users of which a very small handfull (ca. 1 %) are
having reported a usage size that is very different to what 'du'
reports.
How can I rebuild the maildirsize and why might it be wrong in the
first place(?)
