Guys
Compliments of the festive season to everyone.

Want to recreate db.
Hiya

Wanting to seperate MTA and Imap
Hi
Current my set up is that the MTA and Dovecot (maildir) is on the same
machine. Ive been asked to seperate the services from the same machine
(too would like to add a secondary MTA - but thats future ideas).
I read the documentation on NFS, but from other sites i have read.
Most say this is NOT the best solution.
My question is, how do some of the fellow dovecot users,or other
companys, e.g.

OSSEC Recipe?
Hi,
I''m a fairly new to Puppet but so far have been very pleased with the
recipes and my own simple scripts. However, I''ve hit a wall in the
form of OSSEC, (http://www.ossec.net/main/)
Most of my servers are running ubuntu or debain and neither support
OSSEC via apt-get. I''ve thought about setting up my own local
repository to handle this and to also package my own

mysql and/or db access from within puppet recipes?
Maybe this has already been stated or is a feature request or I could be out of my mind.
Is there anyway to access a remote mysql database from within let''s say...a puppet function?

I forgot to add and mention a very important piece of the puzzle.
We are making use of dovecots compression plugin.
I.e. https://doc.dovecot.org/configuration_manual/zlib_plugin/#compression

Solaris Zone site.xml recipe
I was finally able to get ldapnodes [1] working on our puppetmaster so i''m able to start working on the fun stuff.
In the last few days it has become critical that we come up with a better way to manage the configuration of our Solaris zones.
I am planning to write a recipe that provisions the zone [using the zone resource type], but would like to avoid having to keep a stockpile

Hi Tim, *!
Thank you for posting your nice apache2 recipe to the wiki! It''s really good
to see how others make things happen and a good example for others.
One little thing though caught my notice because I''m currently making the same
naughty thing on Simple Text Recipes. There is no ensure attribute. Since you

Centos long end of life support, but im interested in packages themselves.
Hi Guys
Im hoping someone would be so kind to answer my question.
Where I work we are currently reviewing and making use of Centos, because of its long end of life support.
CentOS-6 updates until November 30, 2020
The question I would like to ask is.
Say Centos 6 offers and makes use of PHP 5.3. Say as time goes on PHP themselves deprecate 5.3 and EOL is reached.
Would Centos 6 continue to

Using dovecot Replication in a medium to large enterprise.
Good day Guys
Just wanted to pick the communities brain and experience(s) for a second.
At $CORP where I work. My team has inherited a single server mail solution.
We need to look to building a standby / replicated solution.
One of the things we were looking at is https://wiki.dovecot.org/Replication
We have in excess of +/- 500 mail boxes and using just under 1TB of disk
space. That is a

openvpn recipe: comments, suggestions, help
Good day,
First off, I''m a complete puppet newbie, this openvpn recipe is pretty
much the first puppet work I''ve done so be gentle :-)
Secondly, the openvpn setup for Debian (and systems based on Debian)
allows each openvpn network (tunnel) to be specified using a separate
config file for each: /etc/openvpn/<vpn>.conf
Each tunnel can be then stopped/started/restarted

Even the "Simplest Puppet Install Recipe" apparently isn't simple enough
I''ve tried this over and over, and I just cannot get it to work.
I''m trying to do a proof of concept on puppet, so I''m using two CentOS
5.3 systems running in VMs on separate hardware (i.e. the two VMs are
not on the same physical box). I''ve built the systems from scratch
numerous times, and then pulled down puppet from the rpmforge repo.

Re: LARTC Digest, Vol 20, Issue 4
Hi,
I think you now have 2 Links to the internet. You want to route web traffic
(transparent proxy triffic) via one link and the rest via the other link.
If it is the case, It is possible to do. I have done it.
here I have mentioned eth0 and eth1
eth0 is connected to one link (link1)
eth1 is connected to other link (link2) , via this link, web traffic will be
routed.
echo 210 link1 >>
