SimpleTextRecipes
I have copied the simple text snippets into a pp file and set a host to
attempt to add lines, but regardless if the line is there or not, it still
adds it...
what am I doing wrong?
in definitions/linetests.pp:
define append_if_no_such_line($file, $line) {
exec { "echo ''$line'' >> ''$file''":
unless => "grep -qe

Unless in exec doesn''t seem to be honored on notify.
This was a fun one to track down...
I was trying to use the append_if_no_such_line script from the wiki and it
was working fine EXCEPT when I threw a notify at it.
The notify appears to completely ignore both unless and onlyif within the
exec for some reason.
If I put the same test in the actual command line, it works fine.
Example:
unless => "/bin/grep -Fqe ''$line''

"Semi-Trusted" SSH-Keys that also require PAM login
Hello all,
in order to connect to my SSH servers from untrusted devices like company computers or my smartphone, I set up 2FA with
google-authenticator hooked into PAM.
However, this is not really 2FA at least for the smartphone, since I use the same device for generating the TANs and it
is also at least inconvenient to always require a new TAN for each connection. I do not want to solely rely

OpenSSH-Client without reverse tunnel ability
Good day!
A few weeks ago, we had a security breach in the company I'm working
for, because employees used "ssh -R" to expose systems from our internal
network to some SSH server in the outer world.
Of course, this is a breach of our internal security policy, but lead us
to wonder, whether there is a technical solution to prevent our users
from creating SSH-reverse-tunnels.

ssh_authorized_key and NIS user
Hi,
I have this resource definition:
ssh_authorized_key { "nagios@login2":
key => [REDACTED]
user => "nagios",
type => "ssh-dss",
require => Service[''nis''],
}
This nagios user comes from NIS, yp.conf and nsswitch.conf are handled by puppet
and configured before the key. I still get an "User does not

Is this a good solution? i really don't know, so what's

TomTom Home
Hi,
I'm using wine to allow me to manage my TomTom SatNav using their 'HOME'
application. On the whole it works well. The exception to this is installing
updates/enhancements.
To install items 'HOME' uses two files.
The first is a .cab file which contains the update. The second file is a
.toc file that contains information about the .cab file. This is where I
have my

TomTom Home under Wine?
Hello,
is there a way to get my TomTom Home program connect to my TomTom GPS device? Under windows it's just an usb harddisk, and TomTom Home finds it via it's contents (I think). But under wine it doesn't seem to see it...
Any hints? Or should I rather go for a virtual machine?
Thanks in advance!

transferred files have ",v" at their end
Hi Guys,
When I transfer files with rsync to my server, all the files get a ",v"
added to the extension. Do you know why is this?
I am using the command described on sourceforge
rsync -av rsync://PROJECTNAME.cvs.sourceforge.net/cvsroot/PROJECTNAME/* .
and I get files like "build.xml,v"
If I do a search for the exact phrase with search engines, "build.xml,v", I

Multiple Signatures on SSH-Hostkeys
Hello, OpenSSH-wizards.
In our company, we have looked into SSH-HostKey-signing in order to
realize automated access without the need to accept the server's
hostkey, manually.
I got it to work with the HostCertificate-directive inside the
sshd_config.
Now, I was wondering whether it is possible to have multiple
signatures, so I can, for example, sign the hostkey once with a
