Use of recordPlot
I am trying to save plots that I create using calls to windows() folowed by multiple calls to plot to place several plots on a page. I want to store the plots as variables to be able to recall them later. The documentation states: "Recorded plot histories are of class "SavedPlots". They have a print method, and a subset method. As the individual plots are of class

doubt about options(graphics.record=T)
Hi all, I've been using R under WindowsXP. So, where the R stores the graphic archives (don't saved) if I use the option options(graphics.record=T) inside of Rprofile.site file? windows(record=T) loses last plot (PR#3663)
The audit trail indicates that PR#3663 is not reproducible and/or fixed, but I believe windows(record=T) is still not working as documented: windows(record=T) for(i in 1:5) plot(0, 0, cex=4, pch=as.character(i)) After cycling through the plots with PgUp and PgDn, the user finds out that plot 5 is lost. Indeed, .SavedPlots reports that only 4 plots were saved. I'm running the example in

7.3: Gnome workspaces mirrored
An user is using 2 displays and configured Gnome to "Static Workspaces only on primary display on" using gnome-tweak-tool Till 7.2 it was working as expected. After upgrading to 7.3 the content on the primary screen gets mirrored to all workspaces. When switching to "Static Workspaces only on primary display off" everything is working as expected on 7.3, too. Any ideas?

workspaces/desktops/viewports on top/bottom of cube?
I know this has probably been asked before, but, I'll ask anyways: Workspaces/Desktops/whatever on the top and bottom of the cube, is there any chance this will ever happen? I love how in gnome you can have work spaces in rows/columns, and i tend to have 4-6 workspaces (well 6, but only 4 gets used all of the time, but its nice to have the "buffer" workspaces. since using compiz

Unable to map more than 4 workspaces to keyboard shortcuts on C7.
Hi, I have a new install of c7 with the gnome desktop. I run it with 12 workspaces. Normally I create the shortcuts so that ctrl+f1 maps to workspace 1 ctrl+f2 maps to f2, etc. When I goto applications -> settings -> keyboard -> shortcuts -> navigation, I only have the ability to define "Switch to workspace" 1 through 4. There does not appear to be a way to map keyboard

To improve my understanding of workspaces
Hello. I have grown accustomed to the .Data directory in S-Plus and so when I came to R I continued that behaviour by saving my workspaces at the end of each R session. So, I have saved workspaces in various directories where I have used R just as I would have had various .Data directories where I had used S-Plus. I have seen comments on the list, most recently from Prof. Ripley that they

Can't load workspaces
I've seen a number of issues with the loading of workspaces discussed previously, but here's another one... I simply can't load any saved workspace at all... Here's an example, starting with an empty workspace and creating a single variable "a". > a<-1:5 > save.image("a.Rdata") > rm(a) > load("a.Rdata") Error in function ()  : unused

How to switch workspaces from WoW? Tried virtual desktop.
Wine 1.2.2 Xubuntu 11.04 (xfce) HD Radeon 4650 I have just installed a new video card and I am unable to switch between my virtual workspaces while World of Warcraft is running. With my old card Nvidia 7300 LE I was able to do this if I wanted to check something on the internet and then go straight back into the game etc. I have emulated a virtual desktop of size 1280x1024 and I also have tried

Startup programs in specific workspaces
I have a specific method of using my five GNOME workspaces to perform certain categories of tasks when I log in on a machine, so I just had a thought. Is there a way to specify, say from a login script, for an application to start up in a particular workspace, preferably with a specific "screen" location? Or is this a gnome question? Thanks. mhr

Dragging app between workspaces not working
When I try to drag an app between workspaces, it doesn't move. I'm using compiz. When I put an arrow over an app in the workspace panel viewer (whatever that is called), it says click to start dragging, but no go. Any ideas? Thanks, -wes

question about working with workspaces
Hello everybody, Two - I hope Simple questions about working with workspaces. Is there a way to force R to start in "clean" workspace / avoid "previously saved workspace restored"? When I load workspace"2" working in workspace"1" everything from "1" is written into "2" is there a way to avoid it? Best regards, Daniel Rabczenko

Setting global variables in a function
Hi, I am writing a function that plots many graphs so therefore I have it turn recording on. The problem is; that when it is run again, the new graphs get added to the old ones, doubling the amount recorded. I know that .SavedPlots<-NULL removes the recorded plots but how can this be done from inside a function? Thanks in advance. W. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Synchronzing workspaces
How do people go about synchronizing multiple workspaces on different workstations? I tend to wind up with projects spread around the various machines I work on. I find that placing the directories on a server and reading them remotely tends to slow things down. thanks, Eric -- Eric Turkheimer, PhD Department of Psychology University of Virginia PO Box 400400 Charlottesville, VA 22904-4400

Try KDE Plasma Workspaces
I installed KDE Plasma Workspaces on centos 7 in virtualbox. ?I didn't find in any settings panel or during login a way to use it. ?I googled to see how to use it, but there are some that say do this but then someone says no do this (editing some files). ?I've used some linux distros that allow you to choose during login which to use. ?Since I don't see it at login after a reboot, is
