Can't mount dir as read/write
Hi. Trying to mount a Win2k drive as read/write, but when it gets mounted I
can't actually write to the drive.
Command I'm using is:
su -c "mount -t smbfs //nbgwu5/upload /home/darose/mnt/nbgwu5 -o
rw,username=crosen,password=*****,workgroup=demo"
Result of the mount is:

I can read from the drive, but not write to

As far as I am aware, AD subdomains do not work correctly with Samba AD.

3.0.27a, ubuntu server7.10 auth issues
I have upgraded to version 3.0.27a on ubuntu 7.10 server and now the
getent command wont display the active directory users, but wbinfo will.
It worked fine with 3.0.26a and I have not changed my configuration.
I do however have this in my winbind log:

a piece of code in dtrace pseudo device
Dear all:
In dtrace.c, function dtrace_probe_create(), there''re a piece of code:
id = (dtrace_id_t)(uintptr_t)vmem_alloc(dtrace_arena, 1,
VM_BESTFIT | VM_SLEEP);
id is uint32_t, and I think id is used as an index to array dtrace_probes[]
but why not just use id = cur_value + 1, cur_value is a global variable to
record the lastest id?
Is this a trick? for what?
Thanks :)

strange behaviour of dovecot
Dear dovecot-list,
Dovecot gives the below error messages and those errors go away after
running 'systemctl restart dovecot'(Restarting dovecot service)', however,
the same happens after a while later(like after 300 mails delivered).

How to dereference a pointer to a pointer
Hi. I would like to print out a field of a vnode, but the argument to
the function is of type vnode_t **.
If I set "this->vpp" to arg2 in an entry function to zfs_lookup(), I''d
like to retrieve the value of one of the fields of *(this->vpp) in the
return function. Something like the below (but the syntax below is not
right):
printf("zfs_lookup:

Crossbow integration with Solaris 10/08
Hi,
>From what I have read, the create-vnic feature in dladm is only available
within the context of crossbow...?
Specifically, what I am wondering is whether it is at all possible to
successfully install crossbow on top of Sun''s "Standard/sunsolve supported"
Solaris 10/08 rather than OpenSolaris, per. Se....
Is this at all feasible?
Many thanks in advance..

hard-hang on snapshot rename
[Initial version of this message originally sent to zfs-interest by
mistake. Sorry if this appears anywhere as a duplicate.]
I was noodling around with creating a backup script for my home
system, and I ran into a problem that I''m having a little trouble
diagnosing. Has anyone seen anything like this or have any debug
advice?
I did a "zfs create -r" to set a snapshot on all

dlstat for data link statistics
(Bcc''ed to networking discuss).
Hi All,
Have enclosed man page draft for dlstat(1M) herewith.
This is part of the effort to gain better visibility into network traffic in light of crossbow features like virtual NICs, interrupt vs. polling modes etc. This in turn would greatly assist network performance analysis. It is also aimed at segregating link/flow configuration from

interpolation
Dear R-users,
I have a complex line by xy-values (ordered by z).
And I would like to get interpolated y-values on the positions of x = 0:600.
How do I get the correct points?
