winbind is loosing domain prefix
Hi, we're using the SerNet-release of samba 3.0.7 running on SLES8. Our samba server is running as domain member server (security=ADS) in our w2k domain. On monday we migrated from 3.0.4 to 3.0.7. Since then winbind is trying to relsolve usernames without the domain-prefex and fails. See below: log.winbindd: ... [2004/09/22 06:54:24, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_user.c:winbindd_getpwnam(159)

Problems with samba 2.2.4
Dear Sirs. I have here running samba 2.2.4 compiled on Redhat 7.2 with kernel 2.4.17 with ACL support on EXT3 (http://acl.bestbits.at) and winbindd. Winbind works. I can ssh as a NT4 user and use samba network shares as a NT user without username mapping. (no German special characters, no spaces in user name). 1. In smb.conf veto files = /quota.*/lost+found/.*/ doesn't work 2. In

vfs_shadow_copy2 cannot read/find snapshots
Hi Sebastian, why are you using shadow:snapprefix if this is just ?snap?? Does it work using ONLY shadow:format = snap_GMT-%Y.%m.%d-%H.%M.%S ? If you use snapprefix you also need to use shadow:delimiter (in your case this would be ?_?). However, I never managed to get it working with snapprefix on my machines. No admin privileges after upgrade from 3.5.8 to 3.6.0rc3
Hi, since I was bitten badly by this today, I take the additional time to report this issue here. After upgrading from samba 3.5.8 to 3.6.0rc3, Administrator on the xp clients (yes, still xp sp3, no vista, no win7 clients here) lost its admin privileges. My Samba PDC setup evolved over about a decade now, but since it still needs to support a small environment only (20 xp, 30 users), I
