adding users on multiple servers
Hello folks, Unfortunately I have to add 2 users on 200 servers that do not have centralized authentication or sudo or the same room password. I tried doing this with expect and "su -" but the script fails or acts funny. Please advise me or tell me where I need to look... Thanks and regards, Bazy

Calling all Hackers
Hey guys. I have a server that is owned by me and can confirm through servint that it is owned by me. I would like to do a penetration test and of course to allow you to upload files on the server and kind of trash it to the point where it is always restarting and running out of memory etc etc. This is going to be mainly script kiddie stuff, however will be able to get you hired on with me for

htdocs on NFS share / any pitfalls?
Hi all, i have a new setup where the htdocs directory for the webserver is located on a nfs share. Client has cachefilesd configured. Compared to the old setup (htdocs directory is on the local disk) the performance is not so gratifying. The disk is "faster" compared to the ethernet link but the cache should at least compensate this a bit. Do they exist more pitfalls for such

www.mydomain.org and mydomain.org should resolve to the same IP
Hi list, I am having a debate with one of my clients where I administer their domain and storage server but the website is hosted by godaddy. thus www.mydomain.org goes to one of godaddy's servers but the mydomain.org and mail.mydomain.org and ns1.mydomain.org all go elsewhere. My website designer has been convinced by the godaddy web design team that we should <quote> Again, the

NFS and cachefilesd
It's possible and make sense use nfs mount and cachefilesd for GlusterFS? Actually I use native fuse client to mount my simple cluster, but I'd like to know if this setup can work well. rr -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... GoDaddy royally screws over aussievoip.com.au and soft-swtich.org
Well, I wake up this morning, and aussievoip isn't up. I ring godaddy, who _were_ hosting it, and they say that the machine's been compromised, and you can't have your data. Nyah Nyah. I spent 1 hour and 38 minutes on the phone to them, trying to convince them to let me somehow get access to it, but to no avail. I've reported it to the Australian Federal Police High-Tech Crime

OT: Ecommerce hosting
Would appreciate some suggestions for ecommerce hosting. Been using, cough, cough, godaddy, for about 5 or 6 yrs but in the last year or so, they really suck. Did the hosting myself for a while prior to going with godaddy but I don't have time to babysit. Seems godaddy would rather spend millions advertising during the Super Bowl than put that money to good use. TIA!!

More GoDaddy Woes
My GoDaddy Rails site has been plugging away for a couple of weeks. Its just a proof of concept with very little use. I haven''t updated it or restarted FCGI at all. But today, it just quit working altogether. In the error log, I''m getting: (104)Connection reset by peer: FastCGI: comm with server "dispatch.fcgi" aborted: read failed FastCGI: incomplete

DNSSEC Questions
Last weekend I had my DNSSEC keys expire. I discovered that they had expired the hard way... namely randomly websites could not be found and email did not get delivered. It seems that the keys were only valid for what I estimate was about 30 days. It is a real PITA to have update the keys, restart named and then update Godaddy with new digests. The first part of the problem is fairly

Noob, installing rails on a goDaddy virtual server?
Hi, I''m completely new to all of this. Not even certain this is an appropriate forum for an installation question. I''m just about to plunk down some money to get a virtual server. In looking over the list of isp''s elsewhere on this site, goDaddy isn''t mentioned - probably because they don''t offer rails as a standard distribution. There are some

client certs with godaddy ssl cert
I've read the client ssl cert section in the wiki and it talks about using a self signed cert, if I am using a commercial cert, in this case godaddy, how do I implement a self signed cert for the client side and have dovecot make use of this? I know the mechanics of setting up the self signed ca, the question is more what configuration changes do I need to make in dovecot to handle both

Sharing a caching NFS mount with samba?
I am trying to set up a caching link between two points, that can be shared with windows and *nix. In both locations, I have linux-based servers with data, which have caching NFS mounts (that is, mount -t nfs -o fsc, with cachefilesd). These mounts are working correctly and I have tested the cache locally to much success. What I have not been able to get working is sharing those mounts with

GoDaddy Woes
Has anyone had any luck setting up a Rails App using GoDaddy? I''m at my wits end, I uploaded the site using the "instructions" in the Help Center but I keep getting the Application error Rails application failed to start properly" Error. I''ve lucked all over for help, and I''ve tried a bunch of things (adjusting the chmod values of my dispatch files

Deploying my rails app to GoDaddy
So I''ve written my first real-world RoR app and I''m now getting ready to deploy it. Unfortunately, my client decided to use GoDaddy as the hosting provider and based on what I''ve seen so far from the web, it''s not really the smoothest or ideal hosting for RoR apps. There were several posts here that I tried to follow but they were kinda old (2008, 2007). Most of

Looking for NTLM config example
Also it seems we lack support for NTLMv2. If you want to use NTLM you need to permit use of NTLM(v1), which is usually not enabled by default. godaddy & rails
Sorry to trouble the list with this question... Do many rails developers run or test rails apps on godaddy hosted servers? Is there any documentation (outside of what godaddy provides) about uploading and testing rails apps there? Perhaps someone has written a tutorial? I googled, but found little to no info about it other than the sparse godaddy docs. Thanks!

DNS is confusing! (I really need some help understanding!)
OK, I am confused and DNS is the reason. So, Comcast, 13 public IP's bound to my modem. Each public IP has a DNS name from comcast (they assign it automatically) like: 173.13.167.209 --> 173-13-167-209-sfba.hfc.comcastbusiness.net I created a DNS entry at GoDaddy for 173.13.167.209 that is 'inhouse.theindiecompanyllc.com' When eth0 is alive, I see that it tells me my name

Looking for NTLM config example
It should work. Although if you are using linux server you might want to use gssapi instead. > On June 25, 2016 at 7:43 PM Mark Foley <mfoley at ohprs.org> wrote: > > > I've asked this several times over the past year with essentially zero responses.
