Patchy 'front-end' package installation problems using -R- 2.15.1
I think this is the fourth attempt to send this blessed message, so let's hope this gets through without any 'unprocessed' or 'ignored' in-lines on auto-reply.
I wish to report to you some strange problems I'm experiencing with installing packages directly into my -R- 2.15.1 (there is an indirect solution, which I note below). First, here's some essential information:

R CMD INSTALL cannot find libf77blas
I feel like Marlon Brando in "On the Waterfront" where he's told "It's
not your night, kid", except for me it has been the last two months
trying to debug memory problems. Now I can't even install an old
version of this package on a netbook running the Ubuntu 10.10 netbook
remix because it can't find the libraries libf77blas and libatlas.
I have even gone to

Running R [Broadcast]
In the R-2.3.0 directory, what do you get if you type bin/R? Does R starts
up OK, or do you get an error? What were the last few lines of output from
running configure?

LAPACK lib problem, lme4, lastest R, Linux
I just dumped Vista off a laptop and installed Ubuntu 10.10 (latest
release) as the single operating system. I did all of the updates and
then installed emacs and ess. Next I installed R by following the the
usual instructions on the CRAN site. At this point all is working I am
now in the process of installing the packages that I normally have
installed. I am having a problem with the LAPACK

LAPACK libraries improperly linked
I am not sure if this is an R development problem or not. I am starting
with completely clean OS and and installing the latest version of R
without trying to anything special but I am having trouble with the
LAPACK library linking when I try to build packages that require them.
I thought perhaps my problem may be if interest here.
I just dumped Vista off a laptop formatted the disk and

LAPACK libraries improperly linked
Dear All,
As suggested in the reply from Dirk Eddelbuettel to my post to R-dev I
am reposting here as the problem still persists. Please see my post to
R-dev under same heading for additional description if needed.
In summary I am starting from a new installation of Ubuntu 10.10 as the
single operating system on a reformatted disk with just the OS, ESS and
emacs installed before installing R

Losing Packets after a DNAT in prerouting
I''m trying to setup some DNAT and the packets seem to be disappearing after
the PREROUTING step. The packets are coming in eth2 (both LOG targets in
iptables and tcpdump confirm this). They are then DNATed to an IP that
should cause them to go out eth3. However I never see them go out that
interface. I have tried putting LOG rules into the FORWARD chain with no
success. I''m

Installing sjPlot in R 3.4.4 on Ubuntu 16.04LTS
Dear all,
I have had some rather serious difficulties getting graphics and analysis
packages to load in R on my new Ubuntu Install.
The trouble seems to begin when attempting to install TMB.
I have done a full purge of r-base r-base-dev and r-base-core and
reinstalled the newest version of RStudio (not that this should matter).
I'm not sure what to try next.
many thanks!

Samba/winbind UID mismatch.
Hello everyone,
I am running Samba 4.0.8 on Arch Linux (installed from the Arch Repo)
I have winbind authentication configured and working. I am able to login via ssh, and at the machine console with my samba credentials. I also have a Windows 8 client and an OS X client which is able to connect to this system via smb.
However, when I create files or directories via smb I seem to have a UID

ubuntu problem with 'r-cran-robustbase' [FWD Agustin Lobo]
Agustin, posted on R-help.
I think the problem is one of the debian/ubuntu package
'r-cran-robustbase' and its setup or (missing?) dependencies.
I can confirm Agustin's problem, working on Ubuntu 8.04.2
(8.04 is a "LTS" = long time support version).
apt-get install r-cran-robustbase
works fine, but when trying to load the package,
there's a DLL - dependency on
