Adding Gluster support for Primary Storage in CloudStack
Hi all,
I'd like to inform any CloudStack users that there are now patches [0]
available (for CoudStack) that make it possible to use an existing
Gluster environment as Primary Storage on CloudStack. The changes extend
CloudStack so that libvirt will be used for mounting the Gluster Volume
over the fuse-client.
Some further details and screenshots are available on my blog [1]. If

PDC problem
Hello,
I have a problem with a LDAP backed based Samba PDC.
Last week, due an hardware problem, I lost my primary LDAP server
and PDC. I reinstalled the LDAP server and populated it with the old
data, I also reinstalled Samba.
The problem is that I can't log in to samba as root
(cn=root,dc=info,dc=uvt,dc=ro). All others user accounts ar working
except root.

XCP GUI management
Xen List
After planning for a year to move my Xen 3.4 classrooms to XCP I''m now
making an effort. With the old system I wrote many lines of bash scripts
around the xm command to group and manage my VMs. I used sudo to grant
privileges for each student to start, stop, console into, reboot, and wipe
their VMs without any interaction from me. Now with XCP I had the hope of
moving to the

SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_40
Hi all,
I am getting this annoying "SR_BACKEND_FAILURE_40", have any of you seen
some error like this before?
I found a post here:
http://discussions.citrix.com/topic/283705-internal-error-when-scanning-sr/
But, following those steps did not work out to me.
I am using XCP 1.6 over, hen hypervisor 4.1.1 on Ubuntu 12.10. And as the
management tool, I am using Cloudstack 4.1.1.

cloudstack_resources - invalid instance resource type
I''ve created cloudstack_resources as a module, have setup the
transport.yaml and can successfully run "puppet resource
cloudstack_instance" against my cloudstack environment.
The following cloudstack_instance files have been created
/var/lib/puppet/lib/puppet/provider/cloudstack_instance
/var/lib/puppet/lib/puppet/provider/cloudstack_instance/default.rb

Libvirt enhancement requests
Hi folks,
I know you're rebuilding livbirt for the SIG. Would it be possible to enable RBD support in it?
I know quite a few cases (in the Cloudstack community) that switched to Ubuntu particularly because CEPH support was missing.
The recommendation is to rebuild the rpms, but this is not a viable thing for everyone. E.g.

Xen Cloud Platform 1.1 restart unexpectedly
Dear xen-users,
I''m using Xen Cloud platform 1.1 with cloudstack. I have this
situation, not sure if it''s a bug or intended behavior.
I''ve setup 2 servers: A hosts NFS server, B is installed XCP 1.1. I''ve
mounted NFS shared directory from A to B, to make a SR for virtual
guest disk image. (which in cloudstack, is called primary storage).
But when I stop the

Citrix have open sourced their recently acquired cloud management
platform 'Cloudstack'. It apparently supports multiple hypervisors: Xen,
KVM, Vmware ESXi
The install guide is worth a read even if you're not considering
installing it as it goes over some 'best practice' config for storage,
networking setup etc.

Any tips on dealing with a super hung XAPI process?
One of the cluster nodes (XS 5.6 SP2/not master) became unresponsive to
XAPI calls being sent from a CloudStack management server. In the past, a
simple xe-toolstack-restart would do the trick but the script timed out
while restarting the XAPI daemon.
I found the process and first tried to use a simple kill command but the
process was in a "defunct" state. I tried a kill -9 but no joy.

I'm new to CentOS. (I have tried Debian, Ubuntu, Devuan & Gentoo).
And also new to CloudStack.
I'm trying the Quick Installation Guide of CloudStack as pointed by Andrija

At Configuring the Network topic, I got an error:
