print issue with 2.2.4a on FreeBSD
I have installed samba 2.2.7 on freebsd from the ports collections. I had a previous installation of samba 2.0 and I used my old smb.conf file to duplicate the funcationality I had. Trouble is, printing from winNT/2K clients doesn't work. Printing from win9x machines still does. I've been through the docs on samba.org and looked in chap6 of HOWTO collection on printing and the

This is very frustrating. I have a number of print shares defined in smb.conf. Some of the printer shares open from the windows interface and display the correct status. Other open with the message "access denied" but printing continues to work. I spent an hour going over the latest smb.conf man page and found two possible solutions: 1) using "dissable spoolss = yes" 2)

optimization challenge
I have a challenge that I want to share with the group. This is not homework (but I may assign it as such if I teach the appropriate class again) and I have found one solution, so don't need anything urgent. This is more for fun to see if others can find a better solution than I did. The challenge: I want to read a book in a given number of days. I want to read an integer number of

problems with samba 3.x
I upgraded from Samba 2.x to Samba 3.x on my FreeBSD box. I used the ports collection to do it. Currently, samba is at samba-3.0.10,1 I did a rapid test of after make install from a windows XP box. It worked fine. I also test from another samba client on linux. Again, all was fine However, when I attempt to access this server from ANY windows 2000 box I get the message: >net use s:

7960 Phone disconnects when dialing using speaker
Hi, Just got some CISCO 7960 phones. They seem to work great except if I make any SIP call using the speaker phone (leaving the hand set in the cradle)the call will disconnect in about 5 or so seconds. If I pick up the hand set and make a call, it's fine. Has anyone else run into this ? Any solution ? The phone is on SIP v6.1 - it did the same thing on 4.4 5.0 and 6.0. Thank you in

Change Rcode for a meta-analysis(netmeta) to use a random effects model instead of a mixed effects model
Hello, I am writing a meta-analysis on the complication and reoperation rates after 5 treatment modalities of a distal radius fracture. I have a code to compare the complication and reoperation rates. Currently it is using a mixed effects model. Is it possible to change the code so a random effects model is used? Thank you very much, Jay R code library(meta) library(readxl) All <-

Error loading module ad.so on AIX
Dear Help, I'm working on building samba from source (version 3.0.29) on AIX v6.1. I used the following configure statement: ./configure --with-shared-modules=idmap_ad --with-krb5=/etc/krb5 CC=xlc CPPFLAGS=-I/opt/pware/include LDFLAGS=-L/opt/pware/lib I then edited the Makefile so that the following libraries were included: LIBS=-liconv -ldl -lcom_err -lnsl And then to fix an AIX specific

Model studies in one analysis using treatment as a five level moderator in a meta-regression
Hello, I am medical student, writing a meta-analysis on complication and reoperation rates after the five most common treatments of distal radius fractures. I have been busy with the statistics for months by my self, but find it quite hard since our classes were very basic. Now I want to compare the treatment modalities to see if there are significant differences. Using R I was able to
