playing with smartcard: rsa key upload?
I began playing with smartcard support and enabled this in openssh-3.5p1 on linux. The -U (upload) option unfortunately doesn't work yet with ssh-keygen: $ ssh-keygen -U 0 Enter file in which the key is (/home/user/.ssh/id_rsa): key uploading not yet supported Is there a tool to upload an openssh rsa key to a smart card so that I can use it with ssh -I later on? Should I just upload it as a

Best place for generic utility classes?
I have some code that is simply formatting and parsing URLs and I really don''t want to associate it with a view or a controller or a model - I just want it to be available as a utility class. Where should this utility class go? I would have to import it into my controller using "require" correct? Thanks, Wes -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

IPFW and icmp
I'm not a master of the internet RFCs, but I do believe icmp messages have different types. Now to enable traceroute for IPFW, I might put in a rule like this: ipfw add pass icmp from any to me However, how would I make a rule to limit icmp messages to just those used by traceroute? Can the messages be distinguished as such? A dynamic rule that exists only for the duration of a traceroute

Avaya Partner ACS system, pre 7.0
Hi all, I've got an old avaya partner acs <7.0 system here. I'd like to add a simple voip bridge so I can hook up our remote offices. From my research, it would seem the pre-7.0 series doesn't have a t1 port, so if I wanted to do this, I would have to feed the avaya system fxs ports from the asterisk box. Does that sound about right? Has anybody ever done this? Does

Lucent Avaya Partner ACS T1 module
I'm trying to connect an Asterisk system to an Avaya Partner ACS R6 system. The problem I'm having is that I cannot get the partner system to get CallerID over the T1 modlue. The partner is using the T1 with E & M signalling (which I don't think can be changed), and whatever I tried didn't work. My only option right now is to get FXS ports on the Avaya side plugged into the

smartcard integration - clean or portable?
Hello, Theo, Niels, Jim Rees and I have discussed about integration of smartcard to OpenSSH. Later I have found that OpenSSH has two versions - clean and portable. Now I am wondering which version we should start from. Any suggestions? Thanks. -- Concentration .. Naomaru Itoi

Smartcard & SSH
Some reactions on the thread : Integrating SmartCard in PAM is no problem. Problem I'm facing with for example CryptoCard and SecureID tokens is that those manufacturers refuse to give out any form of information about the internal operation of those tokens. That prevents me from implementing event synchronous mode. The best way to handle this with SSH is probably the way for example Apache

[PATCH] allow entering smartcard pin via pinpad
The CKF_PROTECTED_AUTHENTICATION_PATH flag (as returned by C_GetTokenInfo) should be used to decide weather to request the PIN via terminal or let the reader fetch the pin from pinpad. https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2185 The patch is attached to the bug report.

Dynamic smartcard support?
Hi all, and thanks for everyone's work on the 4.0 release! There's been recent discussion on the OpenSC mailing list about getting better/updated smartcard support into OpenSSH. Originating from an OpenSSH package maintainer's desire to keep dependencies to a minimum, the idea to load OpenSC dynamically popped up. Now the question is whether this is an approach that would be favored

Wanted: smartcard with ECDSA support
Hi, I'm interested in extending OpenSSH's PKCS#11 code to support ECDSA keys, but have so far been unable to find anyone who can sell me a smartcard that supports it. They certainly exist - AFAIK it's required by the US PIV standard, but obtaining cards that support it in single digit quantities seems all but impossible. Can anybody on this list help? I'd want 2-6 cards/tokens

Supporting smartcard readers with PIN entry keypads
Folks, Find below a minor patch to allow the use of smartcards in readers that have their own PIN entry keypads (Secure PIN entry) such as the SPR332 and most german/medical chipcard devices. Tested on Solaris, FreeBSD and MacOSX against various cards and drivers. I?ve left the pkcs11_interactive check in place. Arguably - with some Secure PIN readers it may be better to move this just in front
