samba4 vfs objects don't work
Hi It seems the vfs objects are not loaded. I've joined the domain with "samba-tool domain join DOMAIN DC -UAdministrator%Passwort --realm=DOMAIN.LOCAL --server=windows-dc.domain.local --use-ntvfs" The modules zfsacl.so and recycle.so exists in /usr/local/lib/shared-modules/vfs But neither the ZFS module nor the recycler works. Samba version: 4.0.13 Build host: FreeBSD

vfs object recycle: could two shares use the same repository?
Hi, i use the vfs-object "recycle" on the [homes] share and defined recycle:repository = /backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle. What happens, when using the same repository path for another share, e.g. [data]. Could this lead to data loss in the waste bin? I could of course branch into "/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/homes" and "/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/data" but i

vfs_recycle disables permissions inheritance on AD DC shares
Apologies if this is a documented feature and I missed it - I've been googling and reading through the docs but haven't spotted any mention anywhere. Is the vfs_recycle feature officially being supported with Samba in AD mode? I have a few AD DC's with file shares on them - and have been struggling with file permissions not being inherited on the file shares. I have finally

AD Member Server and 'vfs objects recycle' permission problems
Hi, on our samba 4 domain member server we use the vfs objects module 'recycle'. Unfortunately we ran into a strange permission problem with deleted folders. The newly created folders in the recycle folder have the wrong permission. The deleted file(s) itself has the correct group (rw) permissions. The shares correct permissions: getfacl Papierkorb/ # file: Papierkorb/ # owner: root #

Samba 3.4.6 - problems with vfs objects = recycle
Hi, I just upgraded samba from 3.0.37 to 3.4.6 on a gentoo machine. After converting the passwd file (pdbedit -i smbpasswd -e tdbsam) I tried to login from a windows client but it didn''t work. After commenting the vfs-recycle entries in the shares definition I could successfully login. I cannot find any hint that the vfs objects in samba 3.4 has changed. Can somebody help? Thanks in

vfs objects acl_xattr and recycle incompatible?
Hi, I cannot edit ACLs from Windows any more since I added "vfs object = recycle" to one share. ACLs still work on other shares. I have "vfs objects = acl_xattr" in the global section. Is this incompatible with recycle? The strange thing is that even after commenting out "recycle" and reloading smb.conf, ACLs still don't work on that share. Do I need to

NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED listing \* on Samba AD - out of the blue
I have a Samba AD running Samba 4.7.5. Everything was working fine, when, seemingly out of the blue, the users started to be denied access to all shares. If I try from a Windows 7 or Windows 10 machine, logged in as a user in "Domain Uses", I get: "Windows cannot access \\server-name\share_name. You do not have permission to access \\server-name\share_name" If I use

Big bug with vfs recycle causing bugs and frequent "Delayed write failure"
Hi, I'm running samba 3.0.22 with 2000 and xp clients. Before upgrading to 3.0.22, i had vfs recycle module running like a charm. But since i upgraded, i have several errors "delayed write failure" on every systems 2000 and XP(every 10 seconds), and netscape 7 can't start anymore! In fact, it seems to have a problem with its lock file.So i tried veto oplocks = *.lock but still
