MEMDISK Presence API
Hello,
How do I set up the registers to find out that MEMLINUX is installed? I
know it is an int 13h / ah=08h call - but I cannot figure out how to
specify the other registers...
Also, I need to find a way to be able to:
unhook int 13h and int 15h and put them back to the BIOS vectors, and
yes, I know some DOSses rehook int 13 - but it can be done..
I need to be able to boot a CD, load the

unable to access xen guest's console
Hello all,
I am new to Xen; I followed a few techtips/technotes from How2forge
and other linux sites to walk me through configuring the following:
- proper installation of xen kernel on a CentOS 5.1 server
- booting into the xen kernel and checking the Dom0 (all is fine):

isohybrid: slint64-14.1.iso: unable to find mac efi image
HI,
In http://slint.fr/misc/MacBoot/ you'll find all context information. All
files referenced here are stored there.
Long story short: once dd-ed on an USB stick the ISO image can boot on
a BIOS or EFI machine, but I want it to be able to boot on most x86_64
Macs with an EFI firmware.
Unfortunately I get the error message:

Hi,

This is probably due to El Torito Platform id "Mac" in
-eltorito-alt-boot -no-emul-boot -eltorito-platform Mac \
-eltorito-boot isolinux/macboot.img \
This caused in the image

[GSoC 2016] Capture Tracking Improvements - BackgroundInformation
Hey Scott,
There has been quite a lot of research on capture tracking (aka escape
analysis) for Java and other dynamic languages.
See e.g.:
https://wiki.openjdk.java.net/display/HotSpot/EscapeAnalysis

CPU-Capabilties for Nested Virtualization
Hi,
I have some questions about the CPU-Capabilities for Virtualization
especially for Nested Virtualization like the Turtles Project.
I am trying to create a Nested Environment by following the instruction
of:
http://kashyapc.wordpress.com/2012/01/18/nested-virtualization-with-kvm-and-amd/
The bare-metal system is a Dell Server with following CPU-Flags (virsh
capabilities)

Nested Virtualization with CentOS 7 host and CentOS 8 guest
I'm not sure whether this is a specific CentOS question, but I'm hoping someone here can give me some pointers.
I have an OpenStack compute node running CentOS 7.4.1708 and kernel 3.10.0-693.17.1.el7.x86_64 which is configured for nested virtualization; this has been set up for a few years and works fine when running CentOS 7 guests which themselves are using virt-create / virt-customize

Nested Virtualization on Google Cloud.
I am using nested virtualization on a Google Cloud Compute instance. Things
are generally working fine with libvirt using qemu+kvm, however I observed
that <cpu mode='host-model'> is not exposing avx and avx2 instruction set
to the guest Linux instance. Google Cloud platform claims the CPU model of
the host compute instance is Broadwell, however libvirt capabilities maps
it to

Usable and non-usable CPU models in nested virtualization
Hi, some custom CPU models are reported from
virConnectGetDomainCapabilities as usable='yes' on a physical machine
while as usable='no' inside a VM running on the same machine. That's
not completely surprising.
But what surprises me is that those models are still reported from
virConnectCompareCPU as supported (VIR_CPU_COMPARE_SUPERSET) in the
nested environment and VMs can

Nested Virtualization not working
Hi,
I wonder if someone can provide pointers on what might be wrong with
my setup. I'm running a kvm host Fedora23 with rawhide kernel on top
of a skylake cpu - Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6260U CPU @ 1.80GHz (family:
0x6, model: 0x4e, stepping: 0x3)
As part of an experiment, I have enabled Nested virt support on the
host and created a fedora23 guest with virt-manager using
host-passthrough as the
