/usr/src/sys/conf/newvers.sh, SYSDIR set to wrong directory.
Hello,
My 9-STABLE buildworld broke in a very inexplicable way, I was
getting an error on /usr/src/include/osreldate.h that I couldn't
figure out until I started looking at the sys/conf/newvers.sh and what
it does. It turned out that the thing that broke my buildworld was
having .git directory at the root directory of the system because I
recently started using GIT to track the configuration

make installworld fails : touch not found ?
Hi, hackers :
Yesterday night and this morning, I cvsup my system to latest STABLE branch
source (RELENG_4). All make buildworld, buildkernel, and installkernel
procedure was completed with no error. But when I boot into single user mode
and try to make installworld, I always got " touch: not found " error.
Does anyone encounter this situation ? I have no idea about that. :-(

Installing FreeBSD 9.1 amd64 on IBM x3550 M3
Hello,
I'm trying to install FreeBSD 9.1 amd64 on an IBM x3550 M3 server.
Installation went smoothly, RAID controller and network cards were
successfully recognised.
But, after the installation, the server fails to boot from disk.
There were some posts, about two years ago, in this list implying
that the problem lies in UEFI but I couldn't find any clear
solution.
Any suggestions would

Binary updates for SA-06:23?
Is it just me, or freebsd-update isn't yet shipping the openssl updates?
I'm trying (on an SMP machine) to fetch them, but there seem to be none
available. I'd like to confirm that sleep deprivation isn't the culprit
here, so I've checked in /usr/local/freebsd-update/work/ and the
subdirectory with the highest number contains the SA-06:21 files.
Anyone seen that clue bat

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno,

Yes, I've tried this as well with worse results unfortunately. This
driver seems to be even more unstable. When it gets able to set
communication with the UPS (which is not always the case), it usually
lost it again after a while.

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno,
Thanks for the quick reply. FreeNAS is FreeBSD-based.
Yes, I could test a patch.
As I have mentioned, this behavior is not seen at every single reboot
but after most reboots. Also, some times, the connectivity can be lost
without even rebooting. That is not very often can have happened a few
times.
Best regards,
Panagiotis

mge-shut driver fails almost after every reboot
Hello Arno,
FreeNAS doesn't come with a compiler and I had to compile with the patch
on FreebBSD-9.3 and then copy the produced mge-shut. Unfortunately it
didn't work out. For every try I was getting "Connection Refused" and
when I tried /usr/local/libexec/nut/mge-shut -D -a <ups_name> I was
always getting 'No matching HID UPS found'.
I returned back to the

trouble with crash utility
Hi all,
I recently had an issue where, running kernel 2.6.32-358.11.1, the box
would be up for about five minutes, then would crash and reboot. kdump
saved the vmcore files, so I was hoping to run crash against them to see
why this was occurring. I copied the vmcores to another machine,
installed the kernel-debuginfo package, and gave it a try, but had no
success:

Question about linear mixed effects model (nlme)
Hi,
I applied a linear mixed effect model in my data using the nlme package.
lme2<-lme(distance~temperature*condition, random=~+1|trial, data) and then
anova.
I want to ask if it is posible to get the least squares means for the
interaction effect and the corresponding 95%ci. And then plot this values.
Thank you

gmp package installation on CentOS 5.2
Hello,
Last year, I installed CentOS 5.2 on an HP Proliant Server. Along with other packages, the gmp and gmp-devel version 4.1.4 packages were installed. To the best of my knowledge these packages do not come from the gmp team.
Recently, I built an rpm package for gmp 5.0.1 for CentOS 5.2. I tried to update the gmp package by command
rpm -Uvh gmp-5.0.1-1.x86_64.rpm
but the update failed

qlogic qle2462 hba and freebsd stable on a dl360 g5
Hi.
I'm looking at a qlogic qle2462 hba for my dl360 g5. The thread
http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg99497.html
mentions a deadlock when system is loaded. Has this issue been
resolved? Are there other PCI Express hba's which are known to work
with freebsd stable and dl360 g5?

Configure NUT slaves for D-Link 320 ShareCenter NUT master
Hello,
I have a UPS unit attached to the "D-Link 320 ShareCenter", a SOHO 2-bay NAS. I set up the UPS in "Master Mode". Unfortunately it doesn't supply any kind of useful info in the web interface, so I had to connect via ?nc' to port 3493 to get the proper UPS name.
I manage to to issue a successful ?upsc? command:

FreeBSD-Update + Sendmail
I have been updating my FreeBSD systems for many years by updating and
building from source. For the FreeBSD 9.2 cycle, I decided to use
freebsd-update for binary update instead. I use Sendmail + Cyrus-SASL and
the freebsd-update process only installed a 'bare bones' binary. How do I
compile just Sendmail from source so that it uses my /etc/make.conf for the
smtp_auth components?

Facter operatingsystemrelease on Fedora
Currently, facter returns the kernel version as both the kernel and
operatingsystemrelease facts. I would like to change that so that on
Fedora, operatingsystemrelease is the release number (5,6,7 etc.) or
''Rawhide'' ... are there any objections to making that change ?
