RFC: ext3 ability to syslog actions
Forgive me if this has been discussed. I'm new to the list and couldn't
find any list archives or a FAQ or anything similiar. (Is there
anything?)
I've just today installed ext3 .5d in my machine. All drives (including
'/'). I like it! However, I'm curious about what it's doing. I don't
know C, so telling me to read source won't help. I'm wondering if it

Sound device has been blown away
Well, I spoke to soon. After installing gstreamer-ffmpeg, and creating
an .asoundrc file, I thought everything was perfect. All my music
applications were handling MP3s, FireFox was playing sounds, everything
was sweet.
And so I played some music in Rhythmbox. That lasted about four or five
songs, and then suddenly, the sound cut out. And at the same time, my
keyboard became unresponsive. I

Ogg in my car
I hope this hasn't already been mentioned on the list or I'll kind of look
stupid...
The Ogg Developers may already be aware of this, but I thought this would
be news for most of the people who subscribe to this list. I saw this on
NewsForge where they referenced an article from MP3Newswire.net The article
is about Kenwood announcing a digital music system for cars that supports

Asterisk <-> Nortel Phone Switch
Still trying to make my Asterisk PBK talk to our Nortel Phone Switch (C15k).
Nortel did an upgrade which changed a bunch of things today, so I thought I'd
give it another shot. It looks like I'm much closer this time, but still no
go. Can't do calling in either direction. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

Cisco 3620 PRI and Asterisk
Hi All:
I have a Cisco3620 with a proper T1/PRI card installed with asterisk
running on the same LAN. Since I have lit up the line, I can dial out
and make calls to regular lands lines. However when a call comes back
in it rings the destination phone once and disconnects.
Here is an error from my router

Sending calls from behind NAT
Dears;
It seems my service provider is requesting a complicated settings to allow me to send from behind NAT.
What they said:
"It shouldn't matter as long as you are handling the NAT correctly your end. We do not fix NAT so if you're sending internal addresses in your INVITEs or SDP then things will fail but if you're handling it correctly, we shouldn't tell the

Not sure how to do this in zfs
Hello all,
I''ve tried changing all kinds of attributes for the zfs''s, but I can''t
seem to find the right configuration.
So I''m trying to move some zfs''s under another, it looks like this:
/pool/joe_user move to /pool/homes/joe_user
I know I can do this with zfs rename, and everything is fine. The problem
I''m having is, when I mount

Help linking subnets
Hi, after trying for days I ended up with a working tinc configurazion of 2
subnets, now my goal is to add 2 more subnets and comunicate.
I might seem dumb at this point but honestly I don't work in IT or
Networking stuff, and so I dont have that deep knowledge.
A little explanation of my configuration is

Problem with Shorewall/Routing VPN - LOC
Hello!
I configured a pptpserver on my firewall and followed the pptp-manual from
Shorewall.
Login via VPN to firewall (internal ip: 192.168.10.2) is ok and I can ping this
server via internal ip (and use it: add samba-shares, etc.).
Unfortunately I can''t connect to other hosts in my intranet (LOC).
Ping from vpn-client to clients in intranet fails, although Shorewall-Log shows

Codes negotiation problemsbetweenAsterisk1.4beta2 and Aastra 480i
The problem with the extra ptime descriptions in the SDP has been fixed in Asterisk (see http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/svn-commits/2006-October/017694.html). I've got the latest version of the 1.4 branch from SVN and have verified that the codec negotiation is working again.
If you don't want to try the latest SVN version, then you'll have to restrict the phones to a single codec

SIP on IP aliases
I have some Asterisk boxes in my SIP provider's colo, and the SIP
connections are done without using any kind of authentication credentials.
It's a secure network, so I guess that's OK.
I now want different sets of calls from one box billed to different
customers, by the providers billing system, and the provider says that
the distinction can only be made by having the differnet sets
