tinc 1.1pre4 on Win7x64 coughs on #comment in first line of host file
I have the habit of putting the name of the host within the host file
as a comment usually on the first line. Helps when files are renamed
and tracking. The new version exports Name = victor and so the old
comment style is not necessary. I would think the new version should
still simply ignore lines that begin with the '#' character.
For example, a normal host file named victor that

1 Server, Multiple Client Setup
Hello,
I have tried for days on end with no success on this, so I thought I would
post it here and see if someone can help me at all.
*Here's the scenario:*
I have 1 PC with a Static IP/Domain (a dyndns.org account -
myserver.homeip.net) connected to a router, which in turn is the gateway to
the internet. It also has a static local IP (192.168.1.2). I will call this

PMTUDiscovery and ClampMSS with mixed tincd versions
> Currently, i have nodes with PMTUDiscovery =yes and ClampMSS = yes.
Hello,
these features were introduced in 1.0.13 correct ??
I also understand that the two settings are by default "yes" if not
explictly set to "no" in the config file.
what may happen if I have a network with mixed versions from 1.0.11
and 1.0.13, where the older daemons do not implement that feature

Conflicting Default Values. A trusts B. B trusts EvilNode. Does that mean A trusts EvilNode?
*You should repeat this for all nodes you ConnectTo, or which ConnectTo
you. However, remember that you do not need to ConnectTo all nodes in the
VPN; it is only necessary to create one or a few meta-connections, after
the connections are made tinc will learn about all the other nodes in the
VPN, and will automatically make other connections as necessary. *
The above is from the docs. Assuming

TCPOnly is required since 1.0.13?
Hi,
I upgraded some of my Tinc nodes from 1.0.8 recently and found something
strange.
All of a sudden, the vpn would not work as a full-mesh. Certain nodes
were not contactable.
I re-generated my rsa-keys, and checked my configuration. My vpn uses
the following in tinc.conf, as I am routing both ipv4 and v6.
===
name = node1
mode = switch
AddressFamily = any
PMTU = 1280
PMTUDiscovery = yes

trouble with xennet gplpv in win7x64 xen(xvm)3.4
I have some real problems with the xennet, when disable and try to
enable the nic I get a BSoD due to ndis.sys
Further more the system still fails to get an IP using dhcp.
The box is after a lot of cleanup, now on the 217 GPLPV.
I could provide additional details on demand next week.
(I''m unsure to get the machine earlier in my reach due to an on site
power outage)
thx,

icmp latency question
Hi,
Our company''s main line is quite busy the whole day and my shaping is
working perfect, however even if I give icmp priority the pings still
jump around quite a bit.
We do have a backup line which hardly get used only if the main line
drops. I''ve set ip rule to route all icmp through that and now the
pings are perfect.
Will this make a difference for the game players etc,

Windows NUT shutdown UPS?
I was wondering what you guys do about UPS shutdown on Windows systems?
Apcupsd has the same issue, so I'm assuming it is the same with NUT.
Windows just makes it hard/impossible to do.
Do you find draining the batteries down so much cause issues for longevity?
Regarding my Eaton 5110, I found that automatic driver setup works just
fine on Windows XP but not at all on Windows 7 x64 (I

ipset not actually blocking
i created an ipset and added 8.8.8.8 to it and used the same iptables
working all summer long but
?i can still ping 8.8.8.8 and do nslookup queries against it. ipset or
iptables is broken.
Anybody else rebooted since ipset-6.11-3.el6.i686 was installed and
actually tested that IP addresses that are supposed to be blacklisted are
actually blocked?

unistalling gplpv from win7x64 gives BSOD
I have installed the 210 gplpv (debug), when I try to update them with
current gplpv I get a BSOD even so when I try to uninstall them.
Now I have made a bootentry that specifies NOGPLPV, what gives me a
bootable system after such a crash, I found (uninstalling the leftover
driver packages after getting bsod during uninstall of the main package)
that uninstalling the net driver leads to bsod. Now

Multicast over Tinc
Would it be extremely difficult to do multicast over tinc?
How about reliable multicast over tinc?
This would be more traffic than multicast dns, but not _necessarily_
a great deal more.
It would be for syncing some information among freeipa domain controllers.
Would the tinc nodes need to be in all in switch or maybe even hub mode?
EthernetOverIP over tinc?

multiple addresses and multiple ports in Switch mode
i have a switched and bridged tincd node with two addresses, each with a
different port.
Address = 37.70.156.168 28655
Address = 192.168.2.228 655
i was having trouble reliably connecting to it / thru it and noticed that a
log from a remote tincd node indicated it may have mixed up the ports.
It doesn't appear to use the 28655 port that would be needed for remote
access. Before i

LAN discovery issue
Hi there,
Following situation:
3 nodes, Alpha (Home fileserver), Beta (regular PC), Gamma (Notebook).
All three in a NATed LAN usually, though the notebook also gets
carried around and connects from the outside from time to time. Tinc
should help me keep my other 2 PCs reachable from Gamma, even when I'm
not at home. Also I plan on maybe adding more nodes to that in the
future.
I have set

ipset module loaded at startup on CentOS 6.5
Anybody on here successfully get ipset iptables sets to work _after_ a
reboot?
My question on StackExchange
http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/149536/upon-bootup-all-iptables-are-lost-because-the-kernel-module-ip-set-is-not-loade
Some of the things that need to be in place, otherwise iptables does not
load:
1.) The kernel module ip_set needs to be loaded.
2.) The "sets" need to be

[LLVMdev] [lld] filename in the atom model.
+ Nick
Rui,
Does PECOFF writer need the filename in the writer as well, I am not
sure if linker scripts are supported with PECOFF though.
If PECOFF also needs it, I think it makes sense to store the filename in
the Atom as the native format needs to store that information.
The only option for the ELF writer to know this information is to use
References if other flavors dont need the

Tinc 1.1pre3, 1.1pre4 hangs after some time, on win32 platform
Dear tinc members!
Recently I ran into some problems when trying to test the new tinc 1.1 builds under windows. The main problem is that the tincd daemon randomly hangs (usually in first 1-3 minutes after start). Sometimes it happens quietly, and the log does not display anything. But from time to time, there are bunch of decryption errors ("Error while decrypting: error:06065064:digital

Backporting and Apache 2.0.52 is 4 1/2 years old
http://httpd.apache.org/security/vulnerabilities_20.html
states that Apache 2.0.52 is 4 years old and the latest version is 2.0.68.
i am no longer a httpd expert, but at least one of the security fixes
involves XSS attacks via malformed ftp commands. I also realize that
redhat / centos may patch things separately from Apache and that the
sysadmin has a great deal to do with how secure things

issues connecting in other sites
Hi Team,
I admit that I am not familiar with Tinc very well, but have Tinc running at approximately 20 sites and functioning as a mesh vpn/network. I am having issues adding an additional site as it will not communicate with the rest. I have taken the firmware of one and flashed it on another router to make it duplicate and then tested it working but when I change the hostname, and IP to what we
