[LLVMdev] create two Twine object
I need to generate variables like status1, status2, status3, ...... request1, request2, request3, ...... this is my code, other unrelated detail are eliminated. static int varNum; static const char *getVarNum() { ++varNum; std::stringstream ss; ss << varNum; std::string *varname = new std::string(ss.str()); return varname->c_str(); } const char *VarNum = getVarNum(); Twine *x1 = new

[LLVMdev] create two Twine object
According to documentation Twines should be used only for temporary values and not stored, so allocating the in heap sounds wrong. I think all you need here is static int varNum; ++varNum; Instruction *sstatusInst = new AllocaInst(StatusTy, Twine("status") + Twine(varNum), entry_inst); Instruction *sreqInst = new AllocaInst(ReqTy, Twine("request") + Twine(varNum),

Yes, in general you should never be naming Twine directly, except in the case where you need to make a Twine for an integer. All other uses should be considered poor style, as

Applyiing mode() or class() to each column of a data.frame XXXX
Hi everyone, I am attempting to use the apply() function to obtain the mode and class of each column in a data frame, however, I am encountering unexpected results. I have the following example data: v13<-1:6 v14<-c(1,2,3,3,NA,1) v15<-c("Good","Bad",NA,"Good","Bad","Bad")

increase a value by each group?
Hi everybody. I'm looking for the way to increase the depth value in 0.01 for each index group. Easier to explain with this example: >my_data=read.table("clipboard", header=TRUE) Depth s_name index 3852 Site_1 144 3852 Site_1 144 3852 Site_1 144 3852 site_A 145 3852 site_A 145 3852 site_A 145 3852 site_A 145 3852 site_B 147 3852 site_B 147 3852 site_B 147 3852 site_B 147 54962

R conditional matrix operations - advanced condition
Hello List! I stumbled across an efficiency problem - calculation that would be probably done very fast as a matrix operation I must perform as a for-loop. My intention was to do a conditional operation in matrix depending on the information in first column (summing as many data points from vector my_data as the number specified in the first column of the matrix) but the result is that the

Summary tables of large datasets including character and numerical variables
Hello ! I am attempting to switch from being a long time SAS user to R, and would really appreciate a bit of help ! The first thing I do in getting a large dataset (thousands of obervations and hundreds of variables) is to run a SAS command PROC CONTENTS VARNUM command - this provides me a table with the name of each variable, its type and length; then I run a PROC MEANS - for numerical

nonparametric multiple sample comparison
Hello all, Here goes one of my first functions. I want to make a nonparametric multiple sample comparison with unequal sample sizes (see Zar?s Biostatistical Analysis, 3rd. Ed., pg. 201 Example 10.11, pg. 288 Example 11.10). In the real world, I want to compare samples of fish length captured with different fishing gears. After using the Kruskal-Wallis test I want to check the differences

lattice xyplot: plot multiple lines with different colors
Hi everyone, I am using the lattice package to plot some simulation results, by using the function xyplot(). However, I cannot find a way to plot multiple lines within the same xyplot and to have each of the lines be drawn in a different color. This is what I am currently doing: xyplot(a + b + c ~ x, my_data, panel = panel.lines) but, of course, all lines are drawn in the same color. What

Overriding default DELETE behavior with logical deletes
Hello! I am trying to figure out how to implement *logical deletes* instead of physical deletes using ActiveRecord. Basically, in many applications that deal with E-Commerce, you really can''t physically delete almost anything, because records must be kept for auditing and customer service tracking purposes. In the past, I''ve implemented logical deletes as follows: 1.

the first name of the first column
Dear all; I need to run heatmap. Because my first column in my data is alphanumeric, I can not run as.matrix(scale(my_data)). So I need to make my data readable as in data(mtcars). In *mtcars *data the first column is alphanumeric and has no name. Thanks, Greg [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Kaplan Meier - not for dates
I have some data which is censored and I want to determine the median. Its actually cost data for a cohort of patients, many of whom are still on treatment and so are censored. I can do the same sort of analysis for a survival curve and get the median survival... ...but can I just use the survival curve functions to plot an X axis that is $ rather than date? If not is there some other way to

How to find series of small numbers in a big vector?
Hello: I have a vector with 120,000 reals between 0.00000 and 0.9999 They are not sorted but the vector index is the time-order of my measurements, and therefore cannot be lost. How do I use R to find the starting and ending index of ANY and ALL the "series" or "sequences" in that vector where ever there are 5 or more members in a row between 0.021 and 0.029 ? For

How to extract an interval of "hour:minute" type
Hi, I 'd like to know how to extract an interval of "hour:minute" type from a column of POSIXlt POSIXct type. For instance: my_data.csv: 4352;2011-09-02 21:30:00;3242; 4352;2011-09-02 21:31:00;3315; 4352;2011-09-02 21:32:00;4241; 4352;2011-09-02 21:33:00;5394; ... 4352;2011-09-02 01:02:00;67; 4352;2011-09-02 01:03:00;67; 4352;2011-09-02 01:04:00;67; .... Getting unknown error trying to plot spatial data

I'm following an awesome guide to working with spatial data (http://www.frankdavenport.com/blog/2012/6/19/notes-from-a-recent-spatial-r-class-i-gave.html) and am running into an error that I can't figure out how to fix. Significance of degrees of freedom in nlme
Dear Dr. Bates, Thank you very much for your response. I had consulted the algorithm described in Pinheiro and Bates. However, what I don't understand (among other things) is why my two parameters appear to be estimated at different grouping levels (based on the DF values). Affect this different values of DF at the estimates parameters? The estimates fixed effects were get at the same level of

Labeling barplot bars by multiple factors
I want to plot quantitative data as a function of three two-level factors. How do I group the bars on a barplot by level through labeling and spacing? Here <http://www.thomaslevine.org/sample_multiple-factor_barplot.png>'s what I'm thinking of. Also, I'm pretty sure that I want a barplot, but there may be something better.
