multiscreen
I'm wondering what the status of multiscreen support is supposed to be
in 0.9.7.12. Using Ubuntu Precise, it seems that compiz only manages 1
screen and if you want compiz on both screens of a dual screen set up
you need to start two compiz sessions as such:
$ DISPLAY=:0.0 compiz --replace
$ DISPLAY=:0.1 compiz --replace
What makes this all so strange is that even when one starts only the

Multiscreen patches
0001-Do-not-use-shareList-for-multiple-screens.txt
This is essential to get compiz to control multiple screens. I assume
there's a better way though. We can either remove the shareList
support entirely or we should check if it's supported or not.
Improvements on this patch might be a good idea. In Beryl we chose to
leave this as an option, but that doesn't strike me as the best

Drag'n'Drop problem
Hi,
Under certain circumstances, dnd doesn't work on my system with Qt
applications.
This only happens when Compiz is active and with Qt-native applications
(such as Qt's dnd demos).
Applications using GTK or KDElibs are unaffected. To make things even
more strange,
the dnd works on part of the screen (top-left), but after the mouse
cursor dragging an item
goes beyond a certain

Multihead related issues
First, there are two fundamentally diffrent types of doing multihead:
The "one big screen" solution, usually achieved with xinerama ,
twinview or similar. This provides us with one Screen, and therefor
one CompScreen structure. The output extens are retrieved from
xinerama, or possibly randr (in the future?), I would assume.
Then there is the less used "multiscreen" way, which

Path confusion
Dear wine gurus,
I'm trying to run a program installed like this:
/usr/local/program/program.exe
which also contains a subdirectory:
/usr/local/program/subdir/
with some files. When typing:
$ wine /usr/local/program/program.exe
I get an error mesage like:
"File \subdir\some_file not found!"
The problem can be solved by putting
the subdir to the root directory of the

Samba 4, setgid & new file permissions
Hello everybody,
I have a server with CentOS 6.5 (kernel version
2.6.32-431.5.1.el6.x86_64) and Samba version 4.2.0pre1-GIT-4daf7d4. I am
using this server as a PDC and so far everything is working quite alright.
However, I have a problem with permissions of files I want to share.
Mostly it is working well. Samba respects group memberships, including
supplementary groups, ownership, etc. The

interactive menu in scripts
Hello, I would like to make my R script more interactive. Well, I want the
script to work like this:
I run the script from R Console and it offers me some options (press 1 for
something, or press 2 for something else). After pressing 1 or 2, do
corresponding procedure.
I am not able to find out how to do this. I guess the functions menu() or
switch() are the keys, but I didn't manage to use

CentOS 7 installer not seeing SATA disks
I am having trouble with the CentOS 7 installer recognizing
SATA hard disks on a Core 2 motherboard.
Yesterday I was installing CentOS 7 on a core 2 test computer
(rather old machine). The computer had two SATA drives but the
installer did not allow me to select them, even to repartition them.
During install, I was able to manually run fdisk and sfdisk by accessing a
