Enlightenment and CentOS 6.5
Good morning,
I've been looking around for binaries for Enlightenment (>= 0.17) for
CentOS 6.5. I've found something called "elementary" from OpenSUSE but
I'm not sure what Elementary really is :) Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Enlightenment E17 on CentOS 5.x ?
Hi,
Anyone knows how to install E17 on CentOS 5 ? Maybe there are packages
on some third party repo out there ? I thought about building it from
Fedora SRPMS, but before giving this a spin, I thought I'd rather ask first.
AFAIK, the CentOS-based Yellow Dog distribution uses E17 as main window
manager / desktop environment. I remember having tried out Enlightenment
- I think it was in

However I need glibc-2.15
If I do
yum update glibc
I get:

Vector from Matrix
Dear Mailing List Members,
the problem I've been grappling with für quite some time now is the following:
I have a 100 rows x 200 columns matrix.
data.set <- matrix(rnorm(20000, 100, 200))
Now I would like to get a vector of length 100 which collects the values from the following procedure:
Take the sum of the minima of the two values from each row of columns 1 and 101, and divide it

Centos 7 newer kernel needed
Hello Xlord,
The CPU does have VT support and I already have the nested KVM enabled.
Checking the Linux Kernel release notes I saw that the nested kvm feature
was implemented in 3.10 but he EPT support is in 3.12.
So Centos 7's kernel which is 3.10 does have the EPT support? Is there a
way to check that the EPT support is available in the kernel?
Thank you,
Laurentiu

Anyone successful with Quicken 2012?
I have been running Quicken 2009 for over a year successfully and the appDB shows Quicken 2011 works well. Because of Quicken's support policy, I am forced to upgrade to Quicken 2012. I have been unable to run it succesfully under Wine 1.3.37. Anyone have any tips? I have filed a bug just in case the issue is not purely local.

New viewport switcher plugin
Hi,
We've (Soeren Sandmann, really) have written a new plugin that pans
the viewport around a planar workspace instead of the cube. It's a
more toned down transition effect and is more similar to the metacity
workspace model. There's two parts to this patch: one part prepares
the compiz core for workspace that's more than one viewport high, and
the second part is the

Catch SIGINT from user in backend C++ code
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody knew how to trap SIGINTs (ie Ctrl-C) in backend C++ code for R extensions? I'm writing a package that uses the GPU for some hefty matrix operations in a tightly coupled parallel algorithm implemented in CUDA.
The problem is that once running, the C++ module cannot apparently be interrupted by a SIGINT, leaving the user sat waiting even if they realise

Fwd: Need help
Dear colleagues.
I wonder if anybody knows about a procedure in R to calculate the
Berger-Parker index and the Brillouin Diversity index.
I searched the net but did not find anything good about it.
Thanks a lot for any help

Search for locations of subsequences?
Is there a function to efficiently search for a subsequence within a vector?
For example, with
x <- 1:100
I'd like to search for the sequence c(49,50,51), and be told that it
occurs exactly once, starting at location 49. (The items in the vectors
might be numeric or character, and there might be repetitions within the
search pattern or within the vector I'm searching.)

more cubes and 3d metaphoric objects...
hi
how about having more cubes to fly around in 3d space.
though at first thought this might appear unessacary as who needs so many
desktops?
So i thought, why not have special cubes (as well as the original cube of
course) and these special cubes, instead of cubes, be 3d metaphric objects
for specific tasks
such as a radio, or ipod or whatever for music
a cinema for movies
