Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Ista, Maybe a little comment in the 'matmult {base}' doc page or on the 'options {base}' in the field 'matprod' would be useful to remind users to be cautious regarding BLAS multi-threading? I understand why this is a BLAS related issue and not directly an R related issue. Nonetheless, my concern was for non-advanced R users, that may don't even know what BLAS

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Ghislain, The documentation at https://cran.r-project.org/doc/manuals/r-release/R-admin.html#BLAS provides a fair bit of information. What specifically would you like to see added? Centos 7 | Rebind ctrl + alt + f# keystroke to application
Hello, I am new to Centos and this mailing list. I have an application (IntelliJ IDEA) which uses the ctrl+alt+f# key combinations to provide shortcuts. The keystrokes are bind to the ttys virtual consoles. Is there anyway to rebind the keystrokes to the application? I tried the following solution (xorg.conf edit) but my PC freezes during boot process. I had to rollback the xorg.conf changes

Mixed-effects model for overdispersed count data?
Hi, I have to analyse the number of provisioning trips to nestlings according to a number of biological and environmental factors. I was thinking of building a mixed-effects model with species and nestid as random effects, using a Poisson distribution, but the data are overdispersed (variance/mean = 5). I then thought of using a mixed-effects model with negative binomial distribution, but I have

Control multi-threading in standard matrix product
Hi Tomas, Thanks for your answer. Indeed, I checked and my R-3.4.1 installed from the ubuntu repository use 'libopenblasp-r0.2.18.so' while my R-3.3.2 that I did compiled on my machine use 'libRblas.so' which explain the difference of behavior. I will use RhpcBLASctl to avoid issue when combining matrix product and other multi-threading package. Maybe this point regarding

Authentification Dovecot + Samba4
Hello list, I am struggling with setting up dovecot 2.1.7 with samba 4.1.2 on debian wheezy. Dovecot should authenticate via LDAP, but I?cannot get it to work reliably. Sometimes auth works, sometimes not. Referals are already activated in ldap.conf ? LDAP-authentication works fine with other clients (Apache Directory Studio, ?)? Has somebody got a similar setup running? I would love some hints

R package: Mchtest - Monte Carlo hypothesis testing allowing Sequential Stopping
Hi, This is an announcement for a package that has been up on CRAN since March 2006 but was never announced. The package is Mchtest - for Monte Carlo hypothesis tests allowing sequential stopping. The idea is to use the sequential probability ratio test boundaries to stop resampling for a Monte Carlo hypothesis test such as a bootstrap or permutation test. This means that you will take many

rebind interface configuration in samba
Hi, I have a virtual IP which migrate from one server to another depending the server status. I have a problem with this behaviour and samba. When the IP migrates to another server, in the first server samba is stopped. When the IP is going to come back to the first server, samba is started and after that the IP come back. The problem is: Samba (smbd) doesn't bind the IP because it is

Would you mind giving me some help? Please. ######################################### I'm trying to use glm with factors: > Pyr.1.glm<-glm(Pyrale~Trait,DataRav,family=poisson) If I have correctly
