Revisiting sftp tab completion patch
I've finally took the time to figure the last few bugs (that I know of).
This patch will be submit to be included in a few weeks. This patch
should be generic enough for portable without too much hassle.
This patch mimics OpenBSD's ftp behavior. I'm not sure like that (e.g. it
doesn't put / at the end of directories by default), but that is more a
question for the community

sftp tab completion patch (First release - NOT FOR INCLUDING YET)
This applies to the OpenBSD --current tree. Don't see why it shouldn't
work under portable.
Within the patch are the updates I need to make before I'll actually
submit it for real, but I figured I'd make a public drop.
Since I'm not on this list anymore keep me in the CC: if you want me to
respond.
I'll continue to work as time permits, but it would be nice if people

[patch] hard link protocol extension for sftp
Here's a patch that adds support for the creation of hard links over
SFTP.
Hard links are not used very often nowdays, but they do still have
their uses and this is currently the most often requested improvement
for SSHFS.
To detect hard links the st_nlink, st_dev and st_ino attributes are
usually used. I'll also post patches adding extensions for these and
other attributes.

HELP! sftp hangs on exit / Bug?
Hi,
The following discussion was posted to comp.security.ssh
however, it seems that my problems may be a bug in
SSH. Could someone please indicate whether there
is a bug fix, or perhaps whether I should go back a
version or so.
In summary:
- Win98 machine (client)
- OpenSSH as packaged with Cygwin tools 1.1.8
(openssh-2.5.2p2-3)
- Connecting to a Sun running Solaris.

SFTP Status Bar..
This is the LAST version I plan on doing.. If I hear no feed back good
or bad. Then I'll assume I've wasted my time on a feature that people
whine about but don't care to try. This is against 3.0.2pX so it
should be VERY easy for anyone to test.

[PATCH] Add getlink command to sftp
One of the features missing in sftp is the ability to transfer a symlink.
This patch adds a new command to sftp which performs this transfer. Note
that it uses messages that already exist in the protocol between client and
server.
This diff is based on OpenSSH 3.4p1.

sftp Batchmode command level error suppression does not work?
Hi guys -
OpenSSH sftp (on solaris)
>From man page
Termination on error can be suppressed on a command by command basis by prefixing the command with a `-' character (for example, -rm /tmp/blah* ).
This does not seem to work - instead the server seems to fail to recognize the command from the batchfile.
Consider this batchfile
mkdir tmp
cd tmp
put rpt.list
bye

Cygwin hang-problem resolved
Not for me! I'm using cygwin-1.5.6-1, with rsync 2.5.7-2 (as reported by
cygcheck -s). I've also tried with rsync-1.4.0 (as someone reported that
worked), and rsync-2.6.0, both built from source. I get a 100% reliable
hang after the first 0-128k of the first file. Command looks like:
rsync -e ssh -ar sparky:"/cygdrive/c/www\ sites/" /cygdrive/c/wwwsites

sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist
Hello all
Im using sftp 1:4.7p1-8ubuntu1.2
in a batchjob
Ive noticed that sftp needs a long time for sending a filelist.
The timespan increases exponential if many files are on the
remoteserver.
for example "ls -la *.txt" needs 10 seconds for 2000 files
but needs 50 seconds for 4000 files.
For 150.000 Files i have to wait 15 minutes for example
but the

Patch: sftp client support of "ls [flags] [path [localfile]]" feature
Hello,
I just downloaded OpenSSH 3.5p1. This version has some great improvement in
sftp client.
But I still miss the FTP's "ls [flags] remote-path [localpath]" feature to
redirect the output of ls/dir
to a local file.
The following are the diff outputs against 3.5p1 to enable this feature.

sftp client reget reput
we have implemented this function for 3.1p1, and have been using it in
production sense may 2002. The patch has been ported to 3.7.1p2, we have
been using it in 3.7.1p2 for awhile, if anyone is interested, here it is.
This is the same patch David Bradford talked about on 2002-06-05

Greg Hayes
