mongrel parser for server response
I''m taking a stab at creating a parser to parse the server response using the mongrel parser as a base. Never having used a parser like Ragel before in my life, I''d like some input on the following for parsing an http server response. This is part of my modified version of http11_parser.rl. In particular what would be better than using ''any'' to match the

DVD-RAM writer software for CentOS4
Firstly, let me thank all of the individuals who assisted me in various matters regarding find, tar and ssh last week. Your contributions were truly invaluable and I learned a great deal thereby. The reason for that brief flurry of activity was an administrative and technical move to store-to-disc from store-to-tape for our server backups. We presently use a mix of store to disc on

Backup Suggestion on C7
I'm not a bacula expert, but have had 30+ years in the industry doing backups. I'm a little concerned about what you are planning. As I understand it you are going to be keeping just one copy of each machine on a disk attached to the server. This will help if you loose the running disks (though it is hardly backup in depth), but what happens if you loose the server due to fire, flood,

nuby: do models have to inherit directly from ActiveRecord?
Hello, I have a few models -- book, cd, dvd -- for which I''d like to have an abstract base superclass to hold some common stuff. That abstract class, I was thinking, would inherit from ActiveRecord. Didn''t work, though, and looking around, I found this: <http://wiki.rubyonrails.com/rails/pages/HowtoMakeAbstractModel>

Patch for superredcloth to enable textile table headers
SuperRedCloth v1.160 and svn rev 163 don''t work the textile commands that specify table headers instead of table data. Here''s a simple test: require ''superredcloth'' w = "|_. a|_. b|_. c|\n|1|2|3|" h = SuperRedCloth.new(w).to_html puts h <table> <tr> <td>_. a</td>

Telecom SIP termination vs. DS3
(Cross posting on purpose) What is the common wisdom on the list... find a telco that offers SIP termination or wait for Digium's DS3 card? Who are the telcos that offer SIP termination? Thanks,

Asterisk (or generic telecom) Stencil's for Visio 2003
Hello Everyone! In planning for my new asterisk environment, I would like to have some nice presentation graphics for "breaking down" the system to management here where I work. I like to use Visio for these kinds of things, and was wondering if anyone had a good source for Visio stencils that fit into a telecom plan. There was a set from Cisco, and it'll probably be 'good

OT: American Telecom Approved by FCC to Certify DECT Phones in US
http://www.wirelessiq.com/content/newsfeed/7319.html I'm surprised, I thought DECT was already available in the USA from my days selling this at Ericsson Australia back in 1995. Can someone confirm that they aren't already available? Cheers, Dean -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Telecom echo cancel disable
Disabled echo canceller because of tone (tx) on channel 10 I understand that the PSTN companies use their own echo canceller's, send a tone across 2100hz, the problem we're having is people are complaining of echo on random calls. I'm assuming this may be the cause. Is their anyway to 'ignore' the disabling of EC? Or would be just be a manual code change.. Matt

anyone using SIP trunks from Time Warner Telecom?
I am currently using a T1 PRI from TWTelecom for DID and outgoing calls, but I recently discovered that they're offering call termination/origination over SIP trunks in my area now. If they could deliver these SIP trunks to me over a guaranteed-QoS circuit, this would be of great interest to me. We're already using a DS3 circuit from TW for our internet uplink, so I'd imagine it
