Issue with rsync 2.6.1-pre1 on AIX
Hi all, I've recently tried rsync in daemon mode on AIX. Unfortunately, after handling connections, the daemon segfaulted. I've located this problem to the signal handler for SIGCHLD in socket.c - it seems reinstalling the signal handler before doing waitpid caused the signal to be redelivered, so the program recurses to the signal handler before it runs out of stack space in the end and

Domain reconnection after network outage. (ME too)
Hello, I have a problem that seems to be similar as Ollivers (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.network.samba.general/61240/) but I cant find any answer to his question. After a network outage the samba server can't "reconnect" even after a _reboot_ of the whole server. I'm running Debian stable Samba 3.0.14a-3. The message I get in log.windbindd ----- [2005/09/28 10:10:54, 1]

problem with dynamic speex library under windows
Hello. I'm having problems with the dynamic library of libspeex under win32. I have used the static library for a while with no problems. When I try to compile my application with the dynamic library I get the following link error: codec_speex.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _speex_uwb_mode codec_speex.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _speex_wb_mode

Psycho Acoustic models i Speech Coding
Hi, Does anyone have an idea about the possibility to apply psychoacoustic models as the ones in mp3 or AAC to a CELP coder? Thanks! /Pontus <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'speex-dev-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the

SV: Speex modes
Thanks! Btw, have you tried using SBR-technology or similar with speech codecs? That might be a good idea I thought.. But I don't know if it produces as good quality with speech codecs as it does for music codecs. Do you know if there is any open source variant of SBR? /Pontus -----Ursprungligt meddelande----- Från: owner-speex-dev@xiph.org [mailto:owner-speex-dev@xiph.org]För Jean-Marc

Bitrate in encoder
Hi, I'm using the latest version of libspeex (checked out today) and have some problems with checking the target bitrate in the encoder. Calling: peex_encoder_ctl(globals->enc_state,SPEEX_GET_BITRATE, &bitrate); Seems to set bitrate to 24600 no matter what the qualitysetting is.. The functions used previous to this call is: peex_bits_init(&globals->bits);

Speex modes
Hi, I'm about finished developing a QuickTime component that supports Speex (on MacOS X and Windows).. As it is now the user can set complexity (SPEEX_SET_COMPLEXITY) and quality (SPEEX_SET_QUALITY / SPEEX_SET_VBR_QUALITY) and to wether to use VBR or not. Will these options make it possible to produce all combinations of bitrates/qualities? Or should I also use

Psycho Acoustic models i Speech Coding
(This is almost out of topic but anyway...) It is surprising how little research effort have been put into psy-acou models for CELP. The basic problem lies in that it is not easy to alter the LP model without distroying the minimum-phase property (ie. the stability of the predictor). That leaves us with psy-acou modelling of the noise-part only. However, my own research is in constrained
