[LLVMdev] Using multiple ExecutionEngines for better parallelism?
Is is possible since LLVM 2.7 to create multiple ExecutionEngine in the same process. Olivier. Version 1.2beta2 is out!
Hi everyone, I just released Speex 1.2beta2. Release notes: Again, this new releases brings many improvements. The RAM requirement for wideband has gone down drastically (i.e. more than 2x). A new resampler module has been added, providing arbitrary sampling rate conversion -- fast. The echo canceller has also been improved. A bug in 1.2beta1 that made the echo canceller unstable has been fixed.

Questions regarding OGG implementation on DSP
As to tremor fixed-point implementation, i got several questions, and hopefully some one can help me out. Thanks a lot! 1. For DSP chips with small and limited memory, how much memory do we really need for saving all codebooks before we start to decode audio packets? Can the bit-rate give us some clues? Is there some simple guidelines for this? 2. For CRC error protection, it seems to me that

Problems on TI DSP c6701
Hi all: I am a newbie to vorbis, and I want to develop vorbis decoder onto TI c6701 evm board. And I try the tremor code and libvorbis and the code from http://www.xiph.org/archives/tremor/200210/0001.html . But all of them stll work good in MSVC but terrible in c6701. I dont know wher the problem is??Problem of code or problem of memory allocation?? it decodes almost noise,.... When I

Ogg Vorbis on DSP platform?
Hello, I'd like to develop a codec for the Ogg Vorbis algorithm on a DSP (controller?) hardware platform. We've got 2 (3) main applications: 1) the codec should be used for 2 channel simultaneous message recording/playback on flash EPROM. 2) the codec should be used for streaming audio over IP or Ethernet/intranet networks. 3) for large system, the PC should serve as a storing device We

[LLVMdev] Using multiple ExecutionEngines for better parallelism?
Hi, I'm working on an application that compiles using LLVM from multiple threads. Currently, I'm doing this using one ExecutionEngine, but I've observed that this does not seem to scale well past a couple cores. I'd like to be able to get as much parallelism as possible in the compilation, and was wondering about using one ExecutionEngine per thread. The only information

CentOS 7 - AltArch i386 - DVD iso?
Just curious. In the two most recent releases of CentOS 7 AltArch i386 there has not been made available a DVD iso (or the live ones) alongside NetInstall/Minimal/Everything. Any plans to make available the DVD variation for the current or future releases? For older 32-bit hardware, it can be nice to be able to burn a single layer DVD. Thanks for your time, -Brendan

speex on a DSP chip?

This was also our experience porting the Tremor vorbis decoder to a TI dsp. The vendor toolchain is useless; someone really needs to pay cygnus to port gcc. -r ---

speex on a DSP chip?
George Bratis wrote: >Speex now runs on a fixed point DSP with relative little MIPS. >The main problem is that you must rewrite the hole code in assembly. > >George > > Why must you write it in assembly? What is wrong with running the C code on a DSP? Sure you can improve the efficiency if you use assembly, but why do you say it is *necessary*? Regards, Steve --- >8

Vorbis decoder sample code
Hi, I'm a Pocket PC developer and have created a audio translator application on this platform. I currently make use of an MP3 decoder engine, but due to heavy licensing fees I'm thinking of switching over to a patent free format. Vorbis presents the best approach. I read that tremor decoder has been especially optimized for embedded devices. I'd like to make use of this and

Optimizing Vorbis for a DSP
Hello all, I have recently ported Vorbis to a Texas instruments DSP (TMS320C5510), The problem I have is that it is not decoding the audio in real time( about 50% of real time). Could any one give me a clue in which area I could start to optimize the code. Regards Kevin <p><p><p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage:

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF TEXT EMAILS Re: Refreshments after SOMS Seminar Friday 3:30-4:30 in HBB 334
Dear Professor Frank Guess, Why did you call me a Curious George? What is a curious george as in American context? Why did you address this email only to Laura and me. Why did you not answer my early query on what is a curious George? Why do you also send me emails saying I and Gandhi are full of compassion? How come University of Tennessee is funded by Federal Bailout Funds AND has a row

what is max and min bitrate supported in OggVorbis?
Hi All, I am planning to implement Ogg Vorbis Decoder on a 24 bit DSP. I have following doubts: 1) What is min and max bitrate? 2)What is max Audio Packet size ? 3)What is the max size of setup header? 4)Any idea how to start for making a 24Bit fixed point reference code? Shall I start with floating point or Tremor or Tremor Low Mem Version? 5) What window sizes in Ogg Vorbis are normally

Query on Tremor-lowmem version
Hi, While following the developer mailing list, I came across "tremor-lowmem" version. I did some search of it in Xiph.org and "tremor" source code but wasn't able to find it. I would like to know if there is any separate thread for the "tremor-lowmem" version as we are working on the fixed point implementation of Vorbis code and we are looking forward for

Checking accuracy of the output
We've made a little change that changed the output of vorbis is there a way to check the accuracy of the output against the original output? I also asked this question in the irc ... Thanks, Tal.
