What is and what should never be
There seems to be a great deal of talk about adding every conceivable type of metadata to vorbis. Everyone sees this as an opportunity to add the little obscure feature they've always wanted. I don't know if Monty will agree, but I think for the most part this transcends the scope of vorbis. I think it would be much more appropriate to create some sort of general-purpose framing format

yet another stereo related question
Hi! >From http://www.vorbis.com/stereo.psp : "Oggenc's default choice varies by bitrate and each mode is selectable by the user" So, how am I supposed to do that? E.g. what do I have to do when I want an 128kbps .OGG using lossless stereo, or does this "selectable by the user" mean only that I can choose the stereo mode indirectly by choosing an appropriate bitrate?

lowpass option (Was: RE: channel coupling in rc2)
I would very much like a lowpass option because for FM radio broadcasting I don't want to encode frequencies above 15khz. I'm waiting for this option before switching to ogg from mp3(lame). base64 ALBUMART vorbiscomment (was Re: [ogg-dev] Ogg/Spots and Ogg/MNG)
Beside that, multiplexed logical streams suffer from pretty bad software / hardware support, isn't it? It's better to display album art as text if the player doesn't recognize the base64 album art, than being unable to even play the file. ----- Urspr?ngliche Mail ---- Von: Kyungjun Lee <kjoonlee at gmail.com> An: xiphmont at xiph.org CC: vorbis-dev at xiph.org Gesendet:

Re: Ogg IETF standard (was: Re: application/ogg statusupdate)
Hmm, I know what you mean. I've actually taken these sentences out of Monty's specifications. The first one refers to the page size of max. ~64 kByte and the second one to the logical subdivision of packets into segments of 255 Byte size. I'm not sure how to rephrase that properly though. Maybe it's good as it stands: that it is recommended to have 4-8 kByte size, but expected more
