DJGPP patches and makefiles
Hi. Here are my patches and makefiles for compiling ogg, vorbis and vorbis-tools on DOS with DJGPP. They can build them from cvs snapshots and need minimal maintainance (even extract source lists from `makefile.am's). Everything seems to work, except one FP exception on encode at middle bitrates (lowest two and highest bitrates don't cause it) - I don't think it's my

fix for oggdrop disappearing window
Hi, I don't know if this problem has been looked at yet. The latest version of oggdrop I found was at http://www.vorbis.com/files/beta4/windows/oggdrop-1.0beta4.zip. If you whip the window quickly from right to left, the client mouse coordinate in WM_MOUSEMOVE *can* be negative and so the LOWORD and HIWORD macros will cast the mouse coordinates to insanely high 64K-ish values. Then the

Be happy: ogg123 fixes (almost)
I have been very busy for the last few months with school, during which time Jack and others have taken over ogg123. Now I have a week off for Christmas ("Winter Break" for the politically correct), so I have some free time. And what better place to spend it than at my computer? (heh) So anyway I decided to take a look at (what's left of) ogg123. Yuck. Eeew. Horror. The good news:

libvorbis and vorbis-tools 1.1.1 release.
I'm pleased to announce the release of libvorbis and vorbis-tools 1.1.1. These releases include some bug and documentation fixes, but no new encoder modes. However, oggenc from this release now properly supports the new CBR engine introduced in libvorbis 1.1.0 but the 1.1.1 release of both libraries is required for things to work properly. Not that there was never a 1.1.0 release of

Winamp plug-in; http streaming revisited

Getting started with vorbisfile_example.c (MS VC 6)
Hello Hope you don't mind another newbie's question. Further to GIE's email about problems compiling decoder_example.c example (MS VC 7) using debug static ogg/vorbis libs, we'd appreciate any help getting the example files to compile on MS VC 6. The zip files we have downloaded are: libao-0.8.2.zip libogg-1.0rc3.zip libvorbis-1.0rc3.zip vorbis-sdk-1.0rc3.zip

MacOS patches
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi, While trying to build the current vorbis libraries and examples on MacOS with CodeWarrior 6, I stumbled on some problems, for which I've made some patches. The first problem was the static function bark_noise_median() in vorbis/lib/psy.c (r1.49), which has as a second parameter a "const long *". It is only called once in

CVS &quot;add&quot; problem in ogg/doc
I was looking at the doc pages and noticed that the PNG files were corrupt. It looks like they were not added to CVS with "-kb" (binary) I re-converted the on-line GIF versions back to PNG, then are attached. I advise a cvs "remove", followed by cvs add -kb for these. -Chris <HR NOSHADE> <UL> <LI>image/png attachment: white-xifish.png </UL>

libao: Raw audio device
I've completed the new device for libao that just writes raw, headerless, unformatted audio data to the file of your choice. The driver also supports writing to stdout by specifying the output file to be "-". This is the better way to stream uncompressed audio for now, thereby avoiding the headaches contained in wav files. To add the driver: 1) Copy ao_raw.c into ao/src/ 2) Apply

Raw driver patch for libao (New Version)
Okay, here's the new version of the raw output driver. It now allows output in native, little-endian, and big-endian (to make the .cdr people happy) order. I've now had two different people request this driver, so I know there is some demand for it. Below are the patching directions cut-and-pasted from the original email: To add the driver: 1) Copy ao_raw.c into ao/src/

A few small patches
The attached patches (vs CVS) allow me to build oggenc, ogginfo, and vorbiscomment on Win32. (Win64 takes a few more patches to the .dsp and build*.bat files, but I presume everyone building on Win64 knows what they are doing anyway.) VC6 MS Project Files
The VC6 .dsp and .dsw files included with the distro of the Vorbis source has a few problems. Mostly, a few files are missing and cause unresolved symbols when attempting to link to the resulting vorbis.lib. There also exists a problem with linking to LIBC, that can cause multiply defined symbols in an application that attempts to use vorbis.lib. The attached .dsp and .dsw file fix these

libogg 1.1.3 and libvorbis 1.1.2 releases
I'm pleased to announce the release of new versions of our Ogg and Vorbis reference implementation libraries. These are bug fix releases, with no new features. Particularly important is a fix for a pointer aliasing bug triggered by the new gcc 4.x optimizer. Because of this we strongly recommend that all gcc-based users upgrade, i.e. those on GNU/Linux and MacOS X, for example. The new
