Sounds like WinAmp isn't storing a large enough buffer, or Icecast isn't putting a long enough buffer between what it recieves from Oddcast & what it transmits to clients. Hrm, yes it does sound like a bug in WinAmp. Even if it does prebuffer, the length counter should be going beyond 0:01 since you've obviously been listening longer than that after the first second. =P (I don't think the counter resets after buffering, but I could be wrong.) Can you see if you can duplicate it by getting someone else to tune in to the 'cast with WinAmp?

I think this may be an oddcast issue but I'm not sure. I've been streaming for a few days now and I've noticed when listening to the stream that at the change of every song the stream skips ahead slightly. It appears to occur when the metadata for the song title etc is being sent. For me this is a few seconds before the actual change of track since I'm using the SQRSoft

Noticing a strange issue, i'm not sure where this lies. I'm using oddcastDSP to stream Ogg to icecast2, which seems to be working ok, but using winamp (v2) to stream from icecast, winamp is constantly prebuffering, displaying a length of 0:01. Hmm, maybe it could work somehow if we're using quality-based VBR- encoding? If you have silence only very few bandwidth is needed. But I really personally dislike all these VBR-things ... so thats why I would never try implementing it :-) If you want to try to do it this way you might have to write a dsp- plugin that loads Oddcast DSP "behind" itself and passes audio through.

well when i streamed the station using foobar.. then foobar2000 displayed the metadata correctly... but at that time.. when i checked out status2.xml, stats.xsl and stats.xml , the metadata is displaced incorrectly.. two songs behind.. i've tested the stream broadcasting using winamp2, foobar200 w/ oddcast dsp plug in. you can check out my station at http://ny.icecast.net:8646/play.ogg
