darkice client for windows
In theory (insofaras my own little world exists) it should be as simple as changing the audio i/o methods, but interfacing with WinAmp will take someone with experience; all code on xiph.org isn't all /that/ hard to port, and Windows pretends to be POSIX-compliant, so it should almost actually work. The question after that is how willing people are to deal with a command-line utility.

Some notes on the FAQ
Hi. : ) I was updating my unofficial Korean Ogg Vorbis FAQ, when I noticed the following: While #ext is no longer listed in the FAQ contents, http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#ext still exists. IMHO http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#stream looks a little awkward. I suggest something like: Icecast streams Ogg vorbis to playsers like XMMS, Winamp 2, and foobar2000, which are all capable of...

tremor relicensed as BSD
For those of you not of the commit mailing list, I wanted to point out that monty has checked the fixed-point 'tremor' vorbis decoder into xiph.org cvs, under the usual (free) xiph license. This was developed for use in embedded devices, so if you've been waiting for an interger-only (no fpu) implementation, you might want to give it a try. The code is in the 'Tremor' cvs

Tremor + upstream Ogg library
Hi vorbis experts! I'd like ot write application under Symbian that use theora as video codec & tremor as an audio one. I played at first with libogg & theora on PC, then successfully ported them both. Next I decided to port Tremor but I found that it use its own files from Ogg library. The API is almost identical, so I tried to bind the Tremor with upstream Ogg library (it actually

mdct_backward with fused muladd?
Can anybody point me at any resources that would explain how to optimize mdct_backward for a cpu with a fused multiply-accumute unit? >From what I understand from responses to my older postings, Tremor's mdct_backward could be rewritten to take advantage of a muladd. My target machine can do either two-wide 32x32 + Accum(64) -> Accum(64) integer muladd or eight-wide 16x16 + Accum(32)

FAQ updated to new bitrates?
I was looking at the Vorbis FAQ at http://www.vorbis.com/faq.psp#bitrate and noticed that the FAQ appears to be outdated and still shows Beta2 bitrate limitations. When will the FAQ be updated to Beta4 or RC1? What are the officially supported bitrates under Beta4 / RC1? need help with project on Vorbis
Hello, First off, please don't ask development questions directly from a single developer. I tend to answer emails only a few times a month. You will get much faster help by asking on IRC (#vorbis on freenode) or on the vorbis mailing list (vorbis at xiph.org or vorbis-dev at xiph.org). I am cc:inf vorbis-dev at xiph.org; please continue discussion there. > Initially i was not able to

HTML postings
It's been brought to my attention that I am committing the ultimate sin of sending HTML mail to the list (probably including this one). Unfortunately I have an infrastructure problem which is presently forcing me to use Outlook Web Access (I usually use Pine). I'm working on it. Your patience is appreciated. -dan miller <p>__________________________________________________ Do
