More errors in the file format specification Was: Test files for decoder implementation
Hi,
I've found some more errors in the file format specification (or
at least points, where the specification and actual libvorbis implementation
mismatch):

Specification documents
Hi everyone,
after having an extensive look at the reference decoder as well as the
specification documents, I'd like to point out what I think to be some
minor omissions/flaws in the latter, and suggestions for correcting them.

Floor1 encode/decode and FLOOR1_fromdB_LOOKUP
Hello,
I have two questions concerning floor1 encoding/decoding. First I'll ask
about the FLOOR1_fromdB_LOOKUP table: what is it's purpose? Is it to convert
the amplitude differences between [floor1_Y] values to a dB scale? And, if
I'm right with that, here comes the 2nd question: when render_line0 is used
to encode floor1, then floor1_inverse2 must be used in decode (in order to

Hi all,
I want to add the red color under the standard normal curve to the right

Can anyone give me a hand? Please see the code below.
Thank you.

hx <- dnorm(x)

Stochastic Gradient Ascent for logistic regression
Hi. guys,
I am trying to write my own Stochastic Gradient Ascent for logistic
regression in R. But it seems that I am having convergence problem.
Am I doing anything wrong, or just the data is off?
Here is my code in R -
lbw <-
read.table("http://www.biostat.jhsph.edu/~ririzarr/Teaching/754/lbw.dat"
, header=TRUE)
attach(lbw)

need help to find type I error rate for modified F statistic
Hello everyone, I want to calculate type I error rate for modified F
statistic for one way robust anova. I need to find the j group trimmed
mean and winsorized sum of squared deviations. Here I attached my code for
j=2 to make it simple. Originally I have j=4. Hope you can help. I need to
run it for 1000 times
My problem is:

as.xts convert all my numeric data to character
Hello, all... I've been playing with the TTR package and quantmod, and I'm
loading the Chicago Board of Exchange put/call ratio data via a simple
read.csv call...
CBOEtotal<-read.csv(file="

this gives me a data frame with columns....

Wine on non-Unix platforms
Greetings everyone. Let me start by stating that I appreciate the enormous undertaking that Wine has been, and I am not suggesting that the ideas I will ask about in this post would be easy (or even possible) to implement, so there's no need to flame the n00b.
As I understand it, Wine is an implementation of the Windows API for Linux and other Unix-like operating systems (Mac OS X, FreeBSD,

FLOOR_fromdB_LOOKUP
Hello,
You know, I always worry about the precision
and the float constants... and there is a large
lookup table in the floor1.c ... and I figure out
a way to keep the code size and speed, but
to improve the precision at this lookup table.
(the difference is small, but audible)
Here is the modifications in the floor1.c:

[PATCH v3 0/6] initial suspend support
This patch series makes suspend support in qemu alot more useful. Right
now the guest can put itself into s3, but qemu will wakeup the guest
instantly. With this patch series applied the guest will stay suspended
instead and there are a few events which can kick the guest out of
suspend state: A monitor command, ps/2 input, serial input, rtc. Not
much yet, but it''s a start with the

Quadratic programming with semi-definite matrix
Hello.
I'm trying to solve a quadratic programming problem of the form min
||Hx - y||^2 s.t. x >= 0 and x <= t using solve.QP in the quadprog
package but I'm having problems with Dmat not being positive definite,
which is kinda okay since I expect it to be numerically semi-definite
in most cases. As far as I'm aware the problem arises because the

Greetings, useRs.
Does anybody have replication of the examples from the RMS book by Harrell coded in R? I find that most the code does not work and it takes too much time to debug.

segfault in current svn
hi there !
the current version of tinc crashes with a segfault. it seems, as if has

if the client tries to start up subnet_update() ist called for myself.
the for iteration does not get an entry (because the subnet avl-tree is
empty).
the later call of net2str causes a segfault, because it gets an empty

Flash Vorbis player

I wanted to let you know that I have just made available the sources
to the ogg + vorbis implementation in haXe, which I've been working on
for last couple of weeks. The code compiles to an swf file playable in
Flash Player 10.
A demo of a simple player implementation (latest Flash 10 required):
