I tracked it down to a mis-calculated buffer size for malloc. I've attached the patch that fixes it (for me:). The only problem I have with the rest of the code is figuring out how the terminating 0 (null,

Here's a propsed heavy-duty solution for your UTF-8 problems. I'm including a patch in this message, but I'll put the new files on my web site at http://rano.org/tmp/xiph_files.tar.gz I've tested this by running vorbiscomment with and without -DHAVE_ICONV=1 in vorbis-tools/share/Makefile. It seems to work. Changed files: acinclude.m4: Add a test for nl_langinfo(CODESET). This

redhat vorbis install
I hope I'm not being an idiot, but I'm attempting to install vorbis-1.0 RPMs on a few redhat machines and failing horribly. I'm in dependency hell. For starters, libao-0.8.3-1 requires libasound.so.2 (an alsa library?) which does not seem to be available in any recent redhat releases. Then vorbis-tools wants libcurl.so.2, which makes redhat 7.2 machines choke. Worst of all is

patches for xiph build setup
Hi, I offered some time ago to do some build cleanup. Today I did so and here's my slew of patches. Basically, they - touch ogg, vorbis, vorbis-tools and theora - fix a bunch of autotools issues - uniformize the use of them across the four - fix compile/link flags - use pkgconfig if it's available to detect flags - for vorbis-tools, generate and use config.h - add -uninstalled .pc stuff

libao patch
I hope this is the right place to submit libao patches -- the freshmeat page points to ogg vorbis as the homepage for libao. Currently, at least on my system (SB Live Value!, ALSA .9 branch), stuff going to alsa sounds *awful* because of too-small buffers. mpg321 and similar programs are unusable, and none of them seem to want to let you set the buffer size. This patch lets an environment

libao-0.8.5 patch
Hi! There are some little inconvenience in libao-0.8.5. - The biggest is may that: the documentation and the header file declare the ao_file_extension function, which give a hint for the file extension where the device is realy a sound file. This function is missing. -An other: the alsa 0.5 and the alsa 0.9+ drivers short name. It will be better if the alsa 0.5's name will be alsa05 and the

SOS: Production VM not starting!
I am using a VM with CentOS 5.8 x86_64 under KVM. I only have console access to the VM through a virtual console (web based). Tonight, after a routine "yum update", I did a "shutdown -r now" due to kernel update and the VM won't start. See console screenshot vm1.png: https://vmail.noa.gr/files/vm1.png There is an error (which I haven't seen before): type=1404

NetBSD patches
------- Forwarded Message The following patches should fix vorbis-tools to build on NetBSD. I'm not including the diff to the configure scripts, so you'll need to rerun autoconf in the toplevel and libao directory after applying these patches to the configure.in files. It also appears that vorbis-tools/libao/ao_libs.inc is automatically generated by a configure script but checked into

libao patch: Minor clean up / Byte-order proposal
Here is a patch to fix the compiler warnings I mentioned earlier. I've removed the byte-order changes that don't make sense. (Thanks Michael for pointing out the error!) As for the byte-order changes, since some output modules don't have the option to set the sample byte-order, I would like to standardize libao and ogg123 on native byte-order. Will this break the ao_wav.c patches

patches for theora
Hi, I've made two patches against current svn for theora; one for general autotools stuff, and one for -uninstalled.pc Ralph, I think I submitted at least part of the first already once before, was there something wrong with it or was it just an oversight ? Let me know if they need fixing. Patches are at http://thomas.apestaart.org/download/patches/theora/ together with explanations. I
