[Q] Bayeisan Network with the "deal" package
Dear R-users I am looking for a help in using the "deal" package. I followed the manual and paper from the author's web site to learn it, as shown below, but I could not figure out how to access the local and posterior probability of the nodes in the constructed network. library(deal) data(ksl) ksl.nw <- network(ksl) ksl.prior <- jointprior(ksl.nw) banlist <-

hi netters: I have a series of discrete variables which form a network and I want to learn the network structure from some training data. I could have used packages like deal but there are two problems. First of all, I have 10000 variables. So the possible network structure is awfully huge, I don't know how long it will take my PC to find the highest-scoring network..........maybe a

learning networks with a large number of variables andpre-set parents.
I didn't go into details when I asked the question for feat that I would overly specific and blur my real goals. The links between variables are defined as conditional probability distributions. So if the probability distribution of a variable X's value is conditioned on the probability distribution of the values of Y and Z, we say Y and Z are X's parents, and in the network,

More TMDA/antispam fixes
I found tonight that Postfix was doing enough undocumented header rewriting to poke holes in the TMDA filter, which let a few spam messages through yesterday. This was also the cause of some folks not having their messages make it to the list (the confirmation messages were being sent to the inappropriately munged envelope header, and not to the original sender). All should now be well.

mindrot.org TMDA sending multiple auto-responder spams
Hi, It is a shame I feel obliged to write this email. I sent a single email with a possible bug in it, asking if it was working in a newer release. I got 3 spam emails from mindrot.org. Two asking me to confirm, and then when I was forced to confirm I got another auto-responder spam. If I had wanted the 3rd spam I would have set "return receipt". I got this (below) auto-responder

Multpiple sound cards with ices client?
I was wondering is it possible to use the ices client with more that one soundcard under Centos Linux? I only want to stream one mono audio feed to icecast, but am already using the Line input of my sound card for something else, and the mic input might be far to sensitive. I'm running C5.8 and want to backup a directory that is 6GB in size. Is there any Linux program for Centos to make this backup over 2 x 4.4GB DVD+R disks please? Something with a GUI like K3b would do nicely. Kind Regards, Keith ----------------------------------------------------------- Websites: http://www.karsites.net http://www.php-debuggers.net
