libvorbis without encapulsation
Using libvorbis (1.3.5) I wish to extract the raw vorbis packets.  I've built some simple code on the excellent libvorbis API overview on the xiph.org site, but the example relies on the ogg_packet struct for final output and input to decoder, and shows now examples on how to do without it. Taking a look at the vorbis_bitstream_flush() function, which in the overview is the last step before

speex headers and borland c++ builder (bcb)
hello, I try to include the speex header to a bcb project. Speex headers are the latest one. My first problem was to use the lib file with bcb. I solved this issue by restructing the lib file. The second problem is to access the constant called "extern const SpeexMode speex_nb_mode;" through borland's c++ builder. I could analyze the export table of the libspeex.dll. Unfortunately I

DLLs using Borland
I wrote a DLL in C that does some MCMC stuff. It is compiled using Borland's C++ Builder, version 3.0 (build 3.70) on a Windows 98 machine. The DLL loads and runs just fine. But then if I subsequently call R's plot() function, I get an illegal operation message and R crashes. In fact, I've found that this happens even if I merely load the DLL, don't ever run it, and then try to

How To Encode Realtime
Hi, ??Forgive my poor English, I'm trying to implement a net phone using vorbis codec, which need realtime encode and decode the stream. The problem is, I use vorbis_analysis_buffer() and vorbis_analysis_wrote() push the PCM data in, then use vorbis_analysis_blockout(&vd, &vb) to output a block, it can't output all the data. It seems that some data which length is constant, must

Hay! Has anyone come across these errors using valgrind for the oggenc tool or the encoder_example.c: ==13108== Invalid read of size 4 ==13108== at 0x4155734: _vp_offset_and_mix (in /usr/local/lib/libvorbis.so.0.4.1) ==13108==

Encoding process
I apologize for bugging you all again, but I've been trying to wrap my head around the encoding process and I'm about to have an aneurysm :P I've gone through oggenc.c, encode.c, and audio.c and I think I have a basic idea of what happens. I got it down in pseudocode as follows: --- 1 get parameters 2 init vorbis_comment -- vorbis_comment_init() 3 init vorbis_info --

Borland compiler
Has anyone compiled the ogg and vorbis libraries with borlands c compiler (bcc32)? If so, are there any makefiles or similar available which can make it easier for me to do the same? /Erik <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'vorbis-dev-request@xiph.org'

Encoding in Delphi - Help
Hi! I've made a vorbis encoder in delphi, but it's very verey slow! It takes 5 minutes to encode a pcm file. And i don't know why. Could anyone help me??? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- result := ogg_stream_flush(os, og); while result <> 0 do begin OutFile.Write(Pointer(og.header)^, og.header_len);

metadata switches for ffmpeg2theora
Jan, Here's a hacky patch to add a few commandline options for setting comment header fields in ffmpeg2theora. It's a bit big because I virtualized the global info struct in theorautils.c. In retrospect that probably wasn't necessary, but I think it's cleaner anyway. I didn't test it because I couldn't compile ffmpeg2theora, but modulo bugs it should support

Divide by zero in accumulate_fit
Hi, Lately, my oggenc builds (from CVS) haven't been running correctly. In a few debugging sessions, I've found that I'm getting a divide by zero exception. The exception happens in accumulate_fit (floor1.c), line 455: int weight=nb*info->twofitweight/na; Here is the call stack: accumulate_fit floot1_fit mapping0_forward vorbis_analysis oe_encode main The

[RFC][PATCH] Remove private symbols from Vorbis shared libs
Hi all, I recently noticed that Vorbis shlibs export several symbols which are not present in it's public header (for a total of 85 symbols, see attach). Would it make sense to filter them via -fvisibility=hidden and -Wl,--version-script? I attached a draft patch. alloca() problem with CodeWarrior
Thanks for the http://vorbis.com link. That worked. But I looked in the download area and there is no SDK for Mac OS 9. So I am compiling the vorbis code directly into my app. The problem I am having now is that the CodeWarrior 5.0 compiler has a bug with alloca(). It allocates the area on the stack but, under some circumstances, it does not restore the stack pointer at the end of the routine.

Skipping of sample in ogg writing
Hi All, I m having a strange problem with the Ogg-Vorbis writting code. The code I m using to write is skipping some samples at the end of the file. For example I m converting the 10000 sample .wav file ( 441000 sample rate , 16 bit depth , stereo ) to ogg format. But while reading the ogg file I only find 5824 samples in the ogg file. Can any one suggest what could be wrong in the code. Is

Controlling the vorbis encoder precisely
Hello, currently I'm working on a vorbis based encoder that adds multiple single wave sounds into one vorbis stream (and put every sound in one or more ogg pages). During the process an index is written in an extra file so later you can locate a sound's position easily by a file position and length value. The problem is the sample-exact separation between those encoded wave sounds: If I
